Anyone mount a big tent like a cvt Mt Denali or the Walkabout on a double cab with a campershell? I know it’s big, I know there are weight factors for the shell, I’m mainly wondering about the logistics of mounting it. What kind of rack, did you need to add a roof rack for part of it since it will extended over the cab I believe. That kind of stuff would be helpful. Photos would be great too. Thanks!

That's super helpful, thank you! I'll consider the CVT, but I think I'm looking for the smaller one.

Alright friends, so I've got that replacement part in from Thule. I was either going to try my hand at sewing or just tear-aid it onto the outside of the fabric. Any other idea's on how to attach it?

My first thought would be a speedy stitcher. Might be overkill for the small webbing fabric that tab hangs on though.

Saw these at Expo east as the diamondback tonneau guy had them on his cover with a tepui mounted. Looked very sturdy and easy to manage on the low height of the tonneau cover. I was thinking of these on my shell but it would add to much height and less strength overall off camber.

I probably don't need it but would hate to see it trashed. Worst case I could double-up on my SmittyBuilt mattress. I'm in Albany, can help TW Express it if needed. Where in the HV are you? I get down to Poughkeepsie, Newburgh, White Plains, New Rochelle areas monthly.

The one who dies with the most stuff wins.
I live in Poughkeepsie and drive through Newburgh on my way to work. Let me know next time you come down this way and we can meet up and it’s yours.

That’s the size we are looking at. We are a family of 5 and I do not want a trailer. The oldest kid is only 7 so sleeping separate isn’t something they are ready for in strange dark places. We are also looking at AT habitat options too but that thing is $$$$$$! I don’t see any photos in the thread of this size tent. I’m sure I probably just missed them so I’ll scan through again. Thanks!

Just got the call, my Roam Vagabond V4 is in at my dealer, I'm going up and getting it on Monday. Should have the Relentless bed bars around then, too, so I'll try to get some pics and thoughts up in the next week-ish once I get it situated.

Check out Roam Vagabond. Or cheaper smittybilt XL tent (same factory, not same quality) I have the roam and I just slept my family of 5(of 6) in the tent. Me, 5’8” wife, 5’8”, our kids 3 and 4 umm let’s say both under 4” in between us. And at the foot my step son, 6’3”. We had enough room that no one had legs cramped. And we could all lay on our backs without shoulders touching. (It was close though) oh and dog, Newfoundland, he stayed in the annex though.

Yeah. I wish I had gotten a picture of all of us laying down. All I got is one of us playing uno. Kind of a bad frame of reference, but I’m in the corner. The bag is way past my wife in the other corner.
