    For culls, those are damned good. Really enjoyed them. Especially the ones from Shoshone.

    I sure hope the new springs flex as well as those old one did. :pray:

    :thumbsup: We will definitely be testing them out.

    In fact, I hope to go out on the bench with all the weight still in it to do some higher speed stuff to check shock behavior with the new leafs. DSM thinks the shocks do not need re-shimming. They feel pretty strongly that they are correctly shimmed for the tacoma. They feel that it was the worn out springs that were the cause of the bucking at higher speeds.

    Not sure I buy into this, nor does Marc. But I want to establish a baseline before we try a different shim config.

    Yeah, not sure what their thinking is. I tried to push Micah a little on this. Pointing out that I am much heavier than stock but he still insisted the original shim stck should be all that is needed. :notsure: That is why I want to test this before we disassemble.

    FWIW, I bought a couple of other shim stacks so we will be able to mix and match shims as necessary.

    Wish I was doing new rear shocks for me too haha so I could really romp.

    I do t buy they are setup right either because of how they are mounted now. I think it needs to be slower on compresion and faster on rebound..but we will figure it out.

    I don't feel like they are broken in yet. I am pretty sure it will take, as you said, more than one wheeling session to do that fully. However, the opportunity to rebuild is here now. Maybe I will learn enough and be comfortable enough to do it myself in the future after watching Marc.

    I am sure angling them in and back is a factor in how they functioned.

    And your comments point out some of the dilemma I have in describing what they do now and what I want them to do.

    When you use terms like slower and faster in reference to compression and rebound, is that the same as more and less? Is slower compression the same as more resistance to compression? In other words, are you really saying stiffer compression? And faster rebound means less stiffness, less resistance to the rebound?

    So right now this is what I have:

    Compression:

    1.600" - .008
    1.425" - .008
    1.350" - .008
    1.100" - .008
    .950" - .008
    .800" - .020

    Rebound:

    1.425" - .012
    1.350" - .012
    1.100" - .012
    .950" - .012
    .800" - .012
    .750" - .200

    When we saw this, Marc's comment was "I also think it's a bit odd that you have more rebound than compression...".

    On my Foxes, compression is a #30 stack and rebound is a #70 stack. There is a flutter in the compression stack but Micah either didn't know what it was (what he told me) or didn't want to disclose exactly what size shim was used.

    Yea when I say more compression I mean slowing it down as in stiffer and faster rebound as in speeding it up or less resistance.

    Is odd the rebound is so slow and the comp is so fast..like it needs to be backwards from that.
