Guilty as charged. I've been super busy lately and when it gets dark, I go to bed instead of driving 5 or 10 miles to someplace without street lights. I'll try to get some pics in the next few days. Trust me though, the Spot pattern lenses are awesome!

Any updates on these lights? Is everything still as amazing as you had hoped?

Every bit as amazing as I first reported. Still haven't had time to capture how amazing they are yet. I will someday though. I promise!

Have you found these to be very different from the SS3 lighting patterns? Or are they pretty similar?

Going by the size of the lamps, it appears that the optics are *likely* (sandbagging here, as I haven't gotten my hands on a set yet) the same size as the SS3 optics, per LED emitter. So beam pattern shoyld be very similar, just much higher in inte sity.

All of the SS3's that I've had (Pro, now Max) have been fog pattern. My SS5's are Spot pattern, so I have no way of comparing them.

I finally got a chance to use my DD SC3 pro 4k driving lights that are mounted behind the grill as aux high beams. Impressed!

It was much like driving at dusk the way they lit up the path ahead on a winding highway mountain pass.

I feel like my "ultimate headlight" upgrade is working great; but, I had some challenges with tweaking them. you mentioned "aiming left" in this thread; can you expand on that? (are you trying to aim them left or keep them from aiming left?)

    My actual quote was:

About 2 hours later, my son had to leave and we decided to put the project on hold with only the final wiring of the relay (triggered by the high beams) and aiming left to do.

What I was referring to is that the aiming still needed to be done. As for the actual aiming, there were aimed straight head and dead level with the ground. Hope that helps.

Definitely avoid messing with the horizontal aiming. That is a nightmare to recenter.

It sure would be nice if they would make them for the 05-11 Tacoma, Morimoto doesn't. There aren't really any good after-market headlight options.

True but I specifically wanted the badass reflectors in these 2nd Gen trucks when I got mine.

November 1st huh? Should be interesting to see if anything will be made for third gens and if so how they compete with oem led headlights (price/performance).

I was planning on just ordering some ss3 pro or max ditch lights (ss5 looks too ridiculous for ditch lights on the tacoma), but I'm digging the ss5 pod bar on this tacoma...

#Jussayin I will be extreeeeemely interested in a set of the new (apparently) LEP based DD lamps, Most Especially if they are available in the 4000k neutral white color temp or even better, selective yellow.

Looks like the two (actually 4) models of Elite headlights that will release at launch are for the JL platform and 21+ F150 trucks.

We should be seeing updates about rock lights and laser pods later this week. Looks like they're doing a live view demo for each new product every day at SEMA.

Why do the Sports have more candela and lux than the Pro? Isn't it the other way around on all their other Sport vs Pro lights? Why is this different?

Increased intensity is from better focus ( the optical focus is optimized for the tinier chips). The bigger chips have more raw horsepower, but decreased focus. You will notice more overall light with the pros, but the sports will reach longer distances.

Has anyone done temp checks on the DD 30" light bar. I searched but didn't see anything, wondering if I should be worried about icing up on road trips this winter since they're off more than they're on.
