Hmmm.... Good to know thanks. Must admit it's for my other vehicle lol. Edit not sure on the sax as it's in storage right now.

If you ever get it out snap a couple photos & get the serial #, I can probably tell you all about it. Some are worth loads of cash (I just played a $6000 one from 1958) and some are destined to be made into lamps. Fun stuff either way.

Gotcha fairly certain it's a common one, not cheap but not super expensive. Just hoping my kid wants to learn that or one of the others I inherited lol

Last week I played a couple of big band gigs for some posh events up at the Montage, top of Deer Valley in Park City. What a gorgeous spot.

After riding up & back in a Prius with the bass player (who crams his massive double bass in it) my Taco feels like a monster truck.

Time for a major upgrade to the seat cooling. The Katzkin Degreez is nice but it's just a fan (as opposed to piping cooled air from the A/C vents into the seat). So it's like rolling down the windows on a hot day - takes the edge off. But I want to turn the seat into a refrigerator.

Here's what the bottom of the seat looks like:

    IMG_4578.jpg

The fan gets its air right there, and it's not too far from the floor vents under the seat.

I jabbed my meat thermometer 1/2" in to where the seat fan comes through to measure some before and after. Baseline test with the seat fan on high & A/C off: 82.2 degrees.

    IMG_4583.jpg

That's status quo: air moving, but it's not cooled air.

Next step, tinfoil test run under the seat directing the air flow from the vent straight to the seat fan intake:

    IMG_4589.jpg

MONEY. It kept dropping gradually and I took this photo after about a minute:

    IMG_4590.jpg

:bananadance:That's what I'm talking about. I'll drive around and see how much of a difference I can feel. The goal is to have to turn down the seat fan cause I'm so cold.

If it seems like it'll work, Phase 2 will be rigging up some flexible ducting to work when the seat slides back and forth, then permanently mounting it. Phase 3 will be routing air up to the fan for the seat back, which is about 2/3 up the seat back.

Went camping this weekend at Jordanelle and slept under the stars in my truck bed. Worked great with this leveling kit:

Update: so far so good with the seat cooling mod, it's blowing cold air now and makes a nice difference. I haven't yet reached my goal of having to turn it down, but I also haven't driven more than my 3 mile commute to work so a longer drive may do it.

About to do the reversible fog light anytime mod, which is supposed to be super easy access but there's this thing in the way of the fuse box
    IMG_5182.jpg

Supercharger problems. That'll add like 5 minutes that I'll never get back.

    Thanks brother.

2.85 is in the plans. Since it's all under warranty for a few more years I'm still holding off for now ... we'll see how long that lasts.

hahah. seriously tho... it really does wake the super up, it makes it how it should be.... and a fuel pump upgrade should be done regardless.... stock fuel pump is marginal at best with a fully stock super with no intake.

also while you are at it... may as well do the full URD intake, cus uh its AWESOME to hear that roots whine in full force.

See there you go already adding to the list ... first I need the intake, next will be a King LT kit.

I wish there was someone around here who had some various URD stuff installed so I could see / hear / feel it. I'm sure that would convince me to jump on it.

Let me know if you ever come down this way and I would be happy to take you for a ride along. Tires kinda kill the power, but with the gearing I can still light up the tires from a stop. Though I try not to cause they're expensive when you go big
