    Just bought her today. Haven't named her yet.

    • 2000 SR5 4x4 w/ the rear factory locker.
    • 123k miles.
    • Only needs: valve cover seals, rear main seals, and eventually a steering rack.
    Alright guys, does anyone have a list of the factory parts? Gotta start the refresh, belts, ball joints, fluids etc.

    Congrats. Camelback Toyota parts is where I get mine. They have a good website to find parts as well.
    Air cabin man on eBay for belts and water pump.

    Be sure to check the motor mounts. The rubber gets separated and then the ears break off the frame ask me how I know.

    Air cabin man? Is that the seller's name? yeah I was curious because I see that they have these kits that have like all the different belts, seals, water pump and timing belt, all that jazz.

    Are they oem lower ball joints. There is lots of debate about ball joints and I also believe oem is the way to go. They are prone to failure like the first gen Tacoma ones.
    I have always used the Castrol Trans max import formula from autozone in mine and oil I used Mobil 1 from Walmart.
    Also they are prone to the “pink milkshake” like the first gen Tacoma so if you are doing all the preventative maintenance might as well do a radiator to start fresh on that.

    OEM ball joints all the way yes, also going to get a radiator and a separate transmission cooler to prevent the pink milkshake from being possible. Is the 3.4 5w-30 ?

    Honestly I don’t remember I know there was a thread on T4R a while back about it that convinced me and I have been running them for 6 or 7 years now. Same price at dealer and hold a bi more oil and have a bit more filtering media

    Hm, I may have to look into those. Do you know the toyota part number?

    Also, I've ordered:
    • Two OEM Ball Joints
    • The 15 Piece Timing Belt Kit
    • A fuel filter
    • An engine air filter
    • A cabin air filter
    • Spark Plugs
    • Ignition wires.
    Lastly I am looking for the radiator... but having a hard time finding the oem numbers.

    Out the door at $8067. Sadly we have to pay the big time premium down here in the south for 4Runners. $4,500-$5,500 gets you a ratted out one with 315k miles, a clean one typically is no less than $8,000-$10,000 with under 200k miles.
    Hell, 2WD's with less than 200k miles pull in $4,000-$7000.

    There was a Land Cruiser for $7999.99 near me, but she needed about $5,000 in repairs. I offered $6,000 out the door and the guys laughed (but in a friendly way) and declined, 2 days later he sold it and 2nd LC he had. I also watched a guy drive to a lot I was at (came to test drive one). He pulled up with a trailer, asked for "the black lifted one", paid cash, loaded it onto a trailer and then got onto the road back to Florida. Didn't even test drive it or look at it.

    I was once on the road up to Tennessee one Saturday morning. The evening before I saw a good looking 3rd gen pop up at a toyota dealer. I called in the morning and they said come on up to see it! 2 hours on the road I get a call, "Yeah some guy just bought it, sorry!". Damn

    So yeah, buying a good 4Runner in Georgia... you take it up the behind haha

    Congrats, dude. Such a handsome truck. I wish Toyota would get back to their roots, styling-wise. Their new vehicles look like they got their faces ripped off by someone high on bath salts.

    Well I do not think I did too bad then seeing as how mine only has 123k miles and the rear locker. :cheers:

    Seriously, I blame it on the fed's. Messing with the private sector and causing them to make idiotic changes that don't actually help. No more small vehicles... ugh.:annoyed:
