    11/07/14 - 11/09/14 - installed 30" LED light bar

Picked up an Aurora 30" - duel row - hybrid light bar
Rigid Industries Lower Bumper mounting brackets

The mount didn't exactly fit, had to dremel the wholes on the bracket bigger to fit on the bolts and by the frame.

Also had to shave down the lower valance to make the light bar in between it

Forgot to take pictures in between of what I did but any questions let me know

Just wondering how you installed your HID's and the exact model you got? I don't have a lot of experience I am just wondering. Apparently there is all sorts of other stuff you have to do? Any knowledge would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Retrofitting projectors is probably what you're thinking, where you had to take apart the housing and add the projector, then add the HID kit for the projector.

Normal HID's like mine come with 2 bulbs, 2 ballast (capacitors/regulators), and a wiring harness. You remove the old bulbs, install the HID bulb, then connect the ballast to the wiring coming from the bulb, connect the wiring harness to the bulb/ballast, and the wiring harness connects to the battery. Super easy. Only thing to be careful is don't touch any of the glass on the bulbs with your hands, the oil will blow the bulb

It may seem like a lot, but it's all plug and play. I can undo all my HIDs, put stock bulbs back in, then redo them all in less than 30. That includes both fogs and headlights

I get mine dorm DDMtuning, I've used them for the past 4 years and haven't had an issue, and if something goes wrong their customer service is more than helpful in directing me in the right direction or replacing parts (one had 1 part go wrong and it was a wiring harness they replaced in less than a week)

    I have:
55W 6000K hi/lo (high and low beam, make sure to get that) H4 for headlights
    35W 6000k normal H11 for my fogs
(Make sure to double check on the bulb size, but that should be them)

People get upset because they're "blinding" and what not, but I have mine aimed down and they're not more blinding then the stock projectors coming in 75% of vehicles today

Hope this helps, if you have more questions let me know

Did you have to purchase the HID harness, error eliminator, or the adaptor cables?

They are upsells, but are they needed for the first time switch to HID?

The harnesses, I just use zip ties to mount them, the mounting harnesses are super cheap made and not worth it in my mind

    No error eliminator needed

    No adapter cables either

It should be the DDM slim ballast (xenon)
With the hi/lo option you automatically get the wiring harness

So all you need to do is choose the wattage (35 or 55), the bulb is H4 hi/lo (+$20) for headlights and h11 for fogs, and then the color of the bulb you want.

What color and kind of spray paint did you use for the headlight mod. Aka was it gloss, satin, etc.

Krylon Gloss! Follow the how to on curing it in the oven also

They're tinted with a single film stretched with a heat gun and smoothed on the taillight. I got them done to legal tint, super dark tint on my bed light, and the windows tinted, all from a local shop. Total $260, lifetime guarantee

My father had his ram done, and places do spray tint that looks good also, usually way darker though

Had the spray paint stuff, super matte and cheap looking. And new Taillights are triple the cost

    Don't know order yet:
1.) King coilovers and total chaos control arm kit & king rear shocks
2.) Iron bull front and rear bumper (or some type of bumper set)

    Both are a pretty penny:(

Came home to an early Christmas gift - Gerber folding spade
(Didn't take actual picture so I got one off the Internet)

Extremely solid, folds into a 6x8 inch square (roughly), great for people without roof racks or bed rack for tools

Also did some nighttime 4wheeling in by Bartlett Lake in north Phoenix (cave creek/scottsdale area). Wanted to see how this light bar would do and the pictures don't do any justice. 100% impressed

    01/04/14 - Husky Mud Flaps

Got sick of the flimsy OEM Toyota mud flaps with the ugly white 4x4 on them, so I bought these during a Christmas sale

Did the blacking out of your headlights reduce any output versus the way it was before?

Not at all, if you look at the pictures while doing it, you can see that the reflective housing that the bulb uses to direct the light is still chrome, as well as the turning signal chrome part too. So no change in light at all. Only way to have 100% blacked out head lights is to retrofit projectors, and then paint it all black. But that's expensive and saving to have one of the members on here for that for me
