If this thread did anything, it taught me more about lifts and lifting vehicles then I knew before.

Dealers use low-skill labor. Think "ACE Certified" Pep Boys kid mechanic. My truck was scratched and the lug nuts over-torqued at the 5K service. I took it to a different dealer for the 10k and they scratched and dented it. Fuck Toyota Service.

Sounds like there was good faith all around, and you got a solution that satisfies all parties involved.

Given the circumstances, couldn’t ask for more.

Damn, I hope they make it right and buy the truck.

You have no way of telling if this will lead to issues down the line.

Their mistake, they should own up and buy it from you.

I've had to make that call. "Sir, your oil change is done, but we had to drag your vehicle out of the bay on its side with a tow truck."
    Not fun.

    FEEDBACK FROM Me

    1. How would you have reacted? React calmly and jump to #3
    2. What would you be most worried about? jump to #3
    3. What would you expect the Toyota dealership to do? Ask for a new 2019 replacement, and transfer all of the accessories to the new truck with no cost.

Nice ending to a dubious beginning. Glad you are happy with the outcome, OP.

    FOLLOW UP
    - Back from europe (3 weeks later)
    - Today i go to pick up the new truck
    - While i was gone I ordered a bunch of things... I'll start a new build thread i assume.
    - I got the pop&lock, a Dash mount and a switchPro this time around.
    - Dealership got antsy and wanted to send truck to wholesaler before I got back so i had to pay a friend to go and uninstall stuff from old truck (not particularly happy about that but it worked out fine)
    - The deal when i got the truck is everything i got would be "at cost" well they took $2200 for suspension upgrade on the loan. However their options for suspension upgrades were not worth $2200 so they are going to let me take it where I want to go instead of them doing it. Fair option actually... took tons of emails back and forth to get to that point but it was their idea so kudos to them.
    - I'm looking into installing a front camera and a mirror link system if anyone has any suggestions. Bummed 2019 still doesn't have android play.
    - After Icon suspension install tomorrow I'll still have to find a place to install my previous remote start.

Thats sucks. But at least they didn't leave you hanging. They took care of it and got it repaired. If it was me, yea I'd be upset but then you got to know these are humans working on your truck. So mistakes do happen. I myself work as a Assistant Manager at a tire and service shop and scared to death one day it will happen. Although we check, double check, and for the big trucks triple check. There are things in this world that we can't control. We take every precaution that it don't happen, just ain't enough sometimes
