Ive been creeping in this thread a bit because I have been thinking about getting new tires. It's weird being in a skinny tire thread when most people in it have wider tires than me (stock 245/75r16) :p

    Love the truck!
Which offset rims do you have , and do you have a picture from the front or back. Looking to see how skinny the 255s are on an 8” rim.

Only one option in the 16" variant. Specs are listed. Understandably this doesn't answer your question regarding the aesthetics.

I thought they changed offsets on some wheels - I did some searching and you are correct - I thought they offered the deep offset ( -38mm ).

I do the skinny thing. Probably a new size and tire for this thread. 34x10.5/16 LTBs.

Yes, they do what they were made to do very well.

Probably the biggest advantage I see in them over my 255 km2s is a product of the bias construction. The km2 really started to squat hard at 10psi, sacrificing quite a bit of GC. The bias tires stand as tall at 8psi as they do at 32. Deform like a play-doh around obstacles too. I’m very pleased.

Definitely many better all purpose/weekend warrior tires out there. Haha. The km2 was that tire for me.

I have had my Cooper S/T Maxx 255/85/R16 “skinny’s” on for 6 weeks and love them. Zero rubbing issues on stock UCAs. The tires are a little noisy on the highway but drive great

Looks great! Can I bother you for a pic from the front or rear taken at similar distance?

so i ended up going with toyo 285s.......

    i was between a 255/80r17 (33.1") and the 285/70r17 (32.8")... with the toyo's, the 255 was a load E at 50 lbs and the 285 is a load C at 46 lbs. i just couldn't ignore the weight diff..

i jumped up from 265/70r17 toyos at 41 lbs and cant really feel any difference. i am also on the FN FX Pros that are lighter than the factory rims

i can tell a difference. not a huge one. still get 16mpg and that's not taking into account speedometer difference. I am a little more concerned about the handling on wet roads in the rain (less surface area for speeding up and slowing down). But hey.... I'm quite happy with the purchase. Hardly any road noise and rides the same

Although, got some news that i need new LCA bearings and one of my CV axles busted. so i've got that coming up in stuff to pay for.

Who gave you that diagnosis, and did they actually say ‘LCA bearings?’

‘Busted axles’ sounds a little suspect as well.

The Toyo at3 comes in either an E or P for 285 70r17. I have a set of the P rated. Likely what he meant.

The tires look good. What tire and size did you run previous to the Falken?

Broken cv axle? Not just the boot?
