Really liking the look of this. I've been wanting to find a way to pull offthe factory sport wheel. Out of curiosity, what size spacer are you running?

Cool looking pup btw - looks a lot like mine.

I didn't need to replace either, but its a popular size and selling them currently. Just an option if you see a good deal on the skinnys.

Just double checking you'll get about a half inch of space with the 255's. So without the spacer that may be enough. I do know that these suspension systems don't always give the same numbers. Don't know how accurate you can measure but hope this helps. The ruler is sitting above the UCA since resting on the tread. Due to the position/angle of the camera, anything measured below would be off slightly.

Sure appreciate that! Exactly what I needed. That should be fine.

FWIW, I’ve got a set of Spidertrax I ran for about 1000 miles but then took off. To me they seemed to change how the truck drove and I took them off. Sitting on a shelf in the shop building.
    Thanks again.

Yup, same experience with the 255 85 16 Bighorns. Hard packed snow they are bad.
They did better in deep wet snow....better than the Bridgestone AT’s and General Grabber AT2’s (I think that’s what they were) that I had before at least.

This entire thread has blown my mind on tires and what I thought I knew about them.

Went from 265/65/17 on 17x9 wheel to 255/80/17 on the trd pro 17x7 wheels. Had to remove the front mud flaps and heat mold some plastic. I believe my truck has a 2” lift, I bought it used with spacers so I’m not positive. Love it so far. Cruise control up hill struggles a little, other than that feels almost identical to stock size. Haven’t been able to compare gas mileage yet, have to buy a scan gauge first.

Anyone on here have 255/80/r17 wildpeaks or something similar on a regular cab? Just ordered some but kinda wondering how the power is gonna be. Can't imagine it being too bad but can't find much info on the subject.

I was told the BFG stopped manufacturing KM2’s a couple months back. Is this true?

Second time owner of BFG 255/85/16’s km2’s. And a satisfied customer at that. Lots of use on road and off. Only problem was losing big chunks to the rocks. Off road performance superb. And the unintentional drift on-road in the rain. Had an old man give me a thumbs up when I drifted a turn once, meaning by rear end slid out considerably. I was proud of myself and a little ashamed at the same time cause I wasn’t trying to slide, they can just be unpredictable in the rain like that.

    Anybody running BFG LT255/75R17?

If yes, how are they in the snow/ice/wet?

    Thanks,

Trying to decide (mainly because of Black Friday Sales) between 255/75r17 Discoverer AT3 4S or Wildpeak 255/80r17. The 75s are 14lbs lighter than the 255/80s, but after savings only $2 more. Really don't want to do a CMC right now, which is why I was leaning 75s. Talk me in/out of either one. Obviously the little extra height would be awesome.

Rub on a pavement princess will be minimal, if you off road it then you will rub during stuff. Get the taller tires!! Get the taller tires!! Get the taller tires!!

Research I have done any 33" tire rubs mainly when stuffing the tire and turning (offroad or major curb) that is including the 285 tire size guys saying the same.
I would do the pinch weld smash just to be safe but CMC is mainly when stuffing them up in. Some guys say the skinnies dont rub at all but that's highly dependent on exact tire/wheel combo.

I’m running the 245 17” K02s and they’re pretty good. Ran the WBDR with them and no issues
