Any Cummins is better than none! Esp one with only 125 on it. Wish I had one!

Saw an fj80 rolling around the other day with an oil burner. Was jealous!!

Nice!!! A Cummins would make one rumbly middle passenger! Man, I’d love to see pics of that. A rare bird for sure!

We’ve got the same truck. Did you HAVE to remove the mud flaps to prevent rubbing?

I imagine what you purchased are the tallest tires one can buy with bone stock OR wheels and suspension, yeah?

I honestly just removed them as most people's experience was that they rubbed...lucky for me it just got super muddy here and now my entire door sill is filled with it lol. I might try putting them back on and see if I can do some minor trimming to the flaps if it does rub.

I love 33's, and I'm in the process of getting a lift worked out. I like the stock wheels, and I am a fan of the narrower tire width for many reasons. Hope that helps!

Question, im not sure if this has been asked/answered before but i've failed to find an answer if it has indeed been answered. Anyway, are all the LT235/85/16 tires E rated or do they come C rated? Also there is no P rated tires for the 235/85's right? I was looking in to the Cooper discoverer at3's but have only found them in E ratings. Thanks guys!

Most of these tall skinny tire sizes are either the factory or optional tire size for the dually truck segment. So 1 ton trucks or larger. It is going to be difficult to find them in a C load range let alone a P. There may be some out there you may just have to go to every tire manufacturer's site and check because the tire stores may show them.

Of the 44 options on Tire Rack there is only one that is load range C. That's the Pirelli Scorpion Mud but it appears discontinued with only production from 2014 available. Given you should never use tires more than 6 years past manufacture and it is 2018 that probably wouldn't be a good one to buy!

Weight and stiffness is down to more than just load range though. Of the various load range E options some have stronger and stiffer sidewalls than others and different weights as well. For instance the Cooper S/T Maxx weighs 51 lbs while the Discoverer A/T3 weighs just 42 lbs.

I understand that these tires are designed to be used on 1-ton duallys. I assume that the side wall of the tire being stiffer translates to a stiffer ride. I am not expecting a smooth ride like a cadillac. The side wall would be pretty tall on a 255/85/16. With that being said, I know cooper has the ArmorTek for the MAXX's. But it also adds significant weight and rigidity to the sidewall. My question is do I need to make the sidewall construction a priority with this size or is it preference? Just trying to tie up some loose ends before purchasing tonight and finally getting started on the build I've been waiting for 6 months for.

I have pretty much decided to go with Dick Cepek Extreme Country. Jegs has them for 174.97 plus a $100 mail in rebate until 5/15. At $600 for a set of 4 I have to give them a try. CHANGE ME MIND.

I'm running these and I really like them so far. I bought then due to the weight and price mainly. I only have about 800 miles on them and haven't had a chance to off-road them so take it for what it's worth.

Any issues balancing? I have seen a few posts with people having problems balancing or having to use excessive weight. I also read one person had an issue where the tires were banded and the sidewall having an abnormality. At almost half the price though after rebate, i still think it is worth rolling the dice.

I haven't seen anyone post anything on this size I just got. 245-75-17...basically the same size as 235-85-16 BUT you have options in SL rating. Great size, great ride

I am currently running a 245/75/16 shorter than stock, but it has been a great tire for me. I unfortunately discovered tacoma world after i made the purchase or i would have went with the 255/85/16. I am planning on building in the next two weeks if i can get all the parts delivered by then. Hoping i am happy with the results.

Mine balanced out without a problem. I didn't look to see how much it took. I've ran them up to 75mph with no issue. YMMV
