I’m looking to pick up a set of 255/80/17 ST Maxx, preferably lightly used.

Y’all see anything other than just my local CL?

I don’t have any before numbers, but I will fill up today and set the trip. I don’t get the best mileage living in hill country but would be happy to report back with numbers. I had MTs before the Dick Cepeks, but they are considerably quieter than the others. I can’t remember the stock tires I got rid of them a few months after i got the truck. The rugged trails were worthless on flat ground and wet grass.

4 wheel parts seems to have $100 off if you get 4 tires, and Dick Cepek has a $100 rebate. Checkout is $599, with the rebate I’m looking at $499. Think I might pull the trigger on them.

Anyone else want to convince me on Dick Cepek tires? Lol.

    I’m sold haha.

How’s the road noise? I read that these were pretty stout with minimal noise.

I don't have the awesome pics to show, but have about 1500 on mine now. They are extremely quiet compared to my last MT's. I still hear them a little, but not near as bad as my MXT's. Great in all conditions I have had them in so far.

i am currently running 37 up front and 35 in the rear. i haven't chalk tested though. Those were my numbers from my last set and they wore evenly. I need to chalk test to get the right numbers with my new set up and tire size.

I was really excited when I ordered mine. Now that they are finally on I can't wait to go for a real trip. We got an inch and a half of rain last night. I might have to find some mud after work and test these out once and for all.

Nice! Let us know how it goes.
I live in Cali and the rain is long gone for us lol so no mudding for me for some time.

I’m really excited for these tires, How much lift did you gain off of these?

I added those tires at the same time I added my lift. I haven't gotten around to after measurements yet. I missed right after, so I figured I might as well give it a month to settle and then I will take measurements.

Thought this was worth adding to this thread, after a couple months on them I'm in love with my 255/85s. Just wanted to thank everyone on TW who inspired me to go this route because it's basically the perfect all around tire setup. On sand, thanks to my 7" rims I can air down really low so don't have to worry about sinking, in snow I can air up and cut right through to the road, any type of rain is really the only weakness of these tires but it's not bad you just need to get accustomed to the idea of having a little wheelspin is all. Overall I'm really happy with the decision now that the tires are broken in and much more comfortable

Oh yeah and a side note: for anyone running steelies, a set of steel center caps help with the ergos/ steering wheel feedback issues with the steel rims. Less vibration through the wheel, especially over bumps

The new BFG KM3’s are out soon and if they come in 255/85R16, I may wait for those instead of DCEC or ST Maxx.

The guy I spoke with at Discount Tire said they will be out in extremely limited numbers/quantities.

Yeah I figure it’s probably going to be a while still. Maybe I’ll have to reconsider the Dick Cepek extreme country tires.

    Love my
I love my DC EC tires so far. I have about 2,000 miles. I am hoping to get out with a couple jeeps and trucks tomorrow to get a better test of the lift and tires. I’ll report back.

I would go that route. Wait till the KM3's come out, get tested, reviewed by everyone on here, then go on sale, and buy a set.
