Some people are just fucking lazy. Same type of person who asks you to come pull him out of a mud hole but won't answer a text message when you need help moving.

You're actually getting better numbers than what the computer says (if you haven't reflashed to account for new tire size). You have to account for the further distance travelled over one rotation with the 255s vs. stock. You might see a bump of a couple mpgs because of that.

Has anybody ran the Cooper STT Pro 285/75r16 AND the Toyo MT 255/85r16? I have the Coopers now but returning them because they get flat spots from sitting 24hrs, are the loudest MT I've ever owned (out of a ton), didn't balance well & just seem to be crap.

They get flat spot? Maybe you just got a bad set?? Stt pro usually have a pretty good reviews. But you won't be dissappointed in the toyos.

I think I'm gonna go with the 255 80 17 Toyo at2 for my next set... I'd prefer a load c tire but they seem to be the lightest option.

I have them now in a 265 70 17 and have been really happy with them

    Compared to the 285/75R16's on 16x8 wheels. The 285/75R17's are on TRD Off-Road 4Runner 17x7.5's.20180508_185815.jpg 20180508_181035.jpg

Like old bias-ply tires. After sitting for awhile, the tire literally gets a flat spot that was against the concrete & makes the tire out-of-round. When it has a flat spot & you drive down the road, it shakes the wheel & the whole truck goes blump blump blump blump every time the flat spot of the tire rotates to the ground again. Annoying as hell but goes away after about 3-5 miles. You really can't see it but you sure as hell can feel it.

Oh I thought it was something else for a new tire. I expect from a tires from cars in a junkyard or project cars sitting in driveways...I know I had that problem with my Supra back in the day when I fixed it.

I've never heard of anyone had that problem on their stt pros.

About 2" of lift at this point in the front , 5100s set at the second notch.
3" lift in the rear from a custom pack I put together using the factory springs and Chevy springs. Also have icon shocks in the rear.

Rims are FJ style off eBay. 17"x7.5"
Tires, 255/80r17. Had a little plastic rubbing but nothing a little trimming couldn't fix.
