    Oh man…
How far is your commute every day? I'm not going to be any help in the MPG department because I don't keep track but I will say that you can fit a 33" under the OR with no lift. So it just depends on how aggressive you want to go. I read through all the posts before I pulled the trigger on the Coopers. It's worth the read. And it's good to see a fellow Vermonter here

Love me the skinny tires. Allows the suspension to fully compress without having to run fiberglass. Required inner trimming but will tuck.

Has anyone seen some ST MAXX’s for sale? Need 1-2 255/80/17 for spares.

235/85/16 if you have 16 inch rims are your best bet. Some have reported better mileage on the highway, but you will lose a little mileage in town due to the tire being heavier. I can't report from experience because the 235's I ordered are on backorder, but they were $200 off so I'll wait.

Not sure about the rubbing. I ended up going a different route.

New Coopers are finally on, doesn't look like a big difference from the 265-75-16 they replaced, but side by side I was concerned they may not fit.
Finally part of the tall skinny club. Love the ride. Wierd though that they're generally quieter than I had, but louder from the right rear corner it seem's.

I’m no authority on the subject, but I think the Copper ST in a D load is as close as it gets. And they only make a 255/85/16 as far as skinny 33s go.

I'm selling my 5 17 inch Black 4Runner Trail wheels with 5 BF Goodrich Ko2's and getting the Faux Beadlocks in Bronze so I wanted some skinny 33 inch tires options thanks.

255-85-16's, just got them this morning so no offroading yet, but no rubbing with stock mud flaps & no wheel well modifications yet. Actually don't even notice a difference in acceleration & braking. Now I can safely say let it snow, let it snow, let it snow LOL

P.S. another thing I noticed today is a lighter steering effort at slow speeds. Always felt a slight bit of discomfort from rubbing when using my index finger inside the steering wheel for quick slow speed turning, narrower tires make it easier. Small bonus, but still a bonus :bananadance:

What mileage are you 255 guys getting avg? I am averaging 15 with 285’s and think it might be time to switch.

I like those and wish I would have considered that option vs the SEMA wheels.

Interesting thread as I'm looking for new tires. Love all aspects of skinny tires. I didn't see any specs on how skinny you can go on 17" rims.....245? I have OEM rims 265/70/17's
