    Does anyone know what UCA is included with the OME BP-51 kit? Would I be able to run 255/85-16s on a 3rd gen TRD wheel using this lift or would the UCA rub?

    Both are fine. MPG is a lot lower according to the truck's computer but only slightly lower once corrected for speedometer error.

    From everything I have read on here sounds like you can run that tire on stock suspension, so I assume you could with the OME's as well. Not sure about the kit you're looking at but I think most suspension kits don't come with UCA's as far as I've seen and they are bought separately. Pretty sure the stock UCA's should be fine though. No real life experience here however but been doing some research as I'm contemplating this same size tire.

    Based solely on the description in the listing, it sounds like the SPC UCA (or something similar.

    Why not just call or message @HeadStrong Off-Road for clarification? Marie has always been extremely friendly and helpful to the TW community.

    As to the tire fitment question. The JBA UCA are the only ones I’ve heard of presenting any rubbing issues with 255/85/16 on OEM wheels. And that’s only what I’ve read, no hands on experience. Again, Marie could likely address that concern as well.

    I was a little worried about power and gas mileage switching to 255/80r17s but after my first road trip over the mountain pass and back I'd say it did fine. Uncorrected mileage.

    More down than up today but the tank average is pretty good to considering I live at 250' elevation and the pass is right at 10,000'.

    One more truck going Skinny! I went with 235/85r16 KO2's.

    My biggest concern was ride quality with the E rated tires. I also added OME shocks and springs at the same. On the highway, the ride is great. On rough streets, the tires send every bump through to the suspension, but I am happy with it. It still is more comfortable than a sports car for daily driving.

    The drive up the mountains was ROUGH. It was either terribly dusty, or rocks ranging from tennis balls to volley balls in size. I stopped real quick and aired down to 25psi from about 38psi street pressure. That helped considerably. I was going faster than everyone else on the road, but I only saw one other vehicle, a jeep, stop and air down.

    Road noise is nil. You can just hear the tires with the windows down, but not with them up.

    Highway handling is fine. I lost some cornering ability at speed, but I am still commuting at 70-80 mph, so no real impact.

    Biggest hit was fuel economy. My tank average today was 12mph, but that did include crossing a mountain pass twice plus driving up and back to a peak at 9400 ft from my home down at about 4500ft. My regular commuting looks to be 1.5-2 mph below my usual, but I'll need a few tanks of gas to confirm.

    The shop that did my lift loved the tire choice. They said they hate to see Tacoma's get a lift and then go to 285 tires. They said they always feel those trucks rub, drive like crap, and will be coming back in with failed wheel bearings sooner than they should. They were happy to see me keep the wheels tall and narrow. They just don't think the taco can handle wide tires, but they said they couldn't tell most customers that since everyone wants to drive on wide tires these days.

    Great choice. I had 235/85r16 KO2s and sold them to get 285/75r16s. After a year or so on the 285s I regret selling my 235s. I'm definitely going back to a tall/skinny tire next time.

    Hey folks need some input. I ran 255/85r16 on my Tacoma for a couple of years. Best tire size on the planet.....for a Tacoma at least. However I jumped ship and now have a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. So anyhow does anyone have any experience with that size tire on a full size? It would really be 255/80r17 but same size.....

    Sorry to be bringing up a non Toyota on here but the GM forum is about useless.

    I see full size trucks run 235/85r16 all the time so moving up to a 255/85r16 would look good. I like the tall skinnies.

    Or better yet get the 34X10.5R17 KO2s!!!

    Thanks for the reply. I know some of the stock trucks come with 245/... mine came with 265s however the tread width on my current tire is the same or smaller width then most 255s I’ve seen.

    I don’t know why I’m so worried about it. I didn’t think twice when I got them on the taco.
    I’ve seen 285/75r17 which are almost a 34x10.5.

    Oh forgot about the 285/75r17s. Id go this route due to availability. It would be much easier to find this size if you happen to damage one of the tires.

    I’ve really considered it. Biggest downside I see is going from 52.5# per tire on 255/80r17 to 65.5# per tire on 285/75r17. With the particular tires I’m looking at.

    I wish there were more 34x10.5R17 options. Rolling on Dynapro 255/75r17's right now but definitely want to go bigger next time and I love the skinnies.
