Don't have any pics right now. Have been busy with work and all. Everything should be prepped and ready for paint this next week though. I'm anxious to get it done. I made a great deal with a guy who does exhaust for a living and so it's going in to have a exhaust installed on Monday or Tuesday. Then we can start paint!

If you're dead set on painting it something than just one solid color I would go the retro look route rather than just a diagonal V across your truck like these:

Yeah.. I like that but really only on those earlier models.

The pic with the diagonal strip on the side was really only to get an idea of what we were going to do. There will be more to it than that and I think/hope that it will turn out unique, original....ha! And awesome. My dad, who has been restoring, painting, and building custom hotrods for decades, is confident that this truck is going to be pretty sharp when we're done.

Did you have any rust to fix or was it as simple as it looks...sand then paint?

No rust to fix. I wish it was just sanding and painting but, there were several places to body work. Nothing major, just parking lot door dings, mishaps on the tailgate, one spot where I punched the bed, and then one little dent where a lady ran into me on a snowy road.

I don't want to be misleading either guys. My dad is the paint and body guy and so he's the one that is really doing all the work on this paint job. I should have some more pics to post this evening.

I'm pretty sure man that if you have body rust, you have to cut it out and weld in new panels.

Post a pic of it. I'll show my dad and he'll know what has to be done.

I have more pics of body work but those are all kind of boring. So... I'll save you guys from that.

Did get the truck back from the exhaust shop today though. Had a 40 flowmaster installed! The truck sounds amazing!!!!
    9088.jpg One in, two out.

9091.jpg Decided to go this route as opposed to pipes coming straight out the back or on both sides. Everyone seems to do that and I like this configuration.

9094.jpg Awesome! I really like it!

It's been slow going on getting my truck painted but it's coming along. Color has finally been started some. Not the whole thing yet but a little.

Under the hood has been jammed, the fender flares are done, and the tailgate just needs the clear coat.

We decided to mix a little of the 3rd gen into the tailgate.

Door jams we're done today! Next up is one more full body wet sand and then over to the paint booth for the rest of the color.

I've also added another pic of the tailgate with it in the sun.

    Alright guys,

Last wet sanding! It goes to the paint booth on Sunday. It will get one more bath right before going in and then transformation!

Next pics will be of a new truck!
