The something a little different build

Alright it's got color on it. I don't have pics of the whole thing in one shot yet. It has turned out pretty good I think. Definitely not everyone's taste but it's my truck and I like it. More pics to come. There's still a lot of details to do. Oh and none of these pics show it with the clear coat on it.

Gun metal paint to break the strip going on from red and magnetic metallic.


Same thing here.


Red strip....


This part made me a little upset because that colored tape was throwing me off.


Taped for the magnetic metallic.


This color has really brought the body lines into view.


Pretty cool.


The point at the bottom of the door and front fender. You can see the gun metal break between the red, black, and magnetic really well here.


This pic is throwing an optical illusion that the rally strip isn't centered. I assure you it is though.

Awe man! I can't do that! Ha! I had a buddy that was trying to convince me to go with just a solid color and was making fun saying that I was gonna turn it into something 80's.

I'll be damned as soon as he saw it he brought up the A Team van. I about fell out laughing. I probably shouldn't have said anything on here about it as I'll probably catch some grief but I thought it was a one on a million remark and can't help but see the humor. To late now.... Too much work.

Man, that wasn't anywhere in either my dad or my mind when we were coming up with the paint scheme. We just wanted to make it look kind of Baja racey.

Anyway, all that has to be done now is fresh under coat and put everything back together. I'm researching new wheels. I don't want the chrome ones anymore. Been saving for a while now to do this stuff.

I'll post more pics later. It's been sitting in the booth all night last night and today. Tomorrow we'll pull it out into the sun!

Job well done! Don’t stop there. Try and find some Limited Tacoma seats or look up Cerullo seats. That at a car/truck show with some clean interior, nice sound system and an engine bay you could eat off of would steal the show!

 

Thanks dude! I appreciate it. Dad has been painting for a long time. He was super excited to do this project.

My first vehicle ever was an old 1988 terminex Chevy S10. He was redoing it to sell but he decided to stop work on it and gave it to me leaving it up to me to pay for parts and such. Well... I did enough to get it running good and all but never got around to painting it. He has really enjoyed painting this one.

No filter on the HVAC makes it a final resting place for a good amount of junk.
