would love to see this happen around 2020 when the calfire federal assistance contract goes up. then watch all these tax complainers try to fund their fire and roads (winter road maintaining) and police departments with almost zero industry.

guess whos local, state, and property taxes about to go up just after going down in this new state. end up being a new federally funded state fast.

Plumas County gets roads and schools funded now by Feds due to low tax base.
Plus, if a prop goes thru over Prop 13, then watch taxes increase from what I have heard, making taxes so high people are forced to sell, making a glut on the market, driving home prices down. Per the redneck radio out of Susanville. KJDX.
Any positive thing to say or going on?

I'm trying to figure out how I ended up in the 3rd gen section. It seems to me that the most Northerly Cal has changed since I lived there 20 years ago. Much less friendly and inviting now.

I try to stick to the 60+ crowd thread, we only require new posters there to pull up a chair, fill the cooler.

Haha! I love how my intolerance of trolls shitting all over a thread now represents all of the ‘friendly and inviting’ population of 1/3 of the state.

I’m actually not agro I just come off that way. I have a gift in that I tell people what I think. It’s much more funny IRL. Anyhoo, I hope you have a fantastic weekend.

The NorCal threads (whatever the flavor) have been good, just someone pokes their nose in now and then to stir the pot. We may be a closer knit group than was mentioned above for another topic area. I know if I poke my nose in other spots, someone comes along to leave a negative comment. Sticking my nose out here.
We are all close enough in the northern half of California, that we can all do something together. I've driven over to the coast for a night of camping, then hiked over to the ocean to camp on the beach. Driven to Lake Pillsbury to camp with Coleman folks and more.

To be clear my original trolling of this thread was not for shits and giggles it was more so for the disgustingly condescending posts made by OP in the NorCal thread and then in this thread.

I could give a shit less if you wanted a thread for cities near the border of Oregon. But there was no need to be condescending to those who clearly live in the Northern area of California.

You give shit, expect to take it. :) simple.

And yes the dude who decided to try a “tiny dick joke” in an online forum in 2020 is clearly a degen of the state of California and chalking up his piss poor tactics to him having the ability to “tell people what he thinks” is comical at best.

Enjoy the thread and have a good weekend y’all.

Looks like the thread got renamed, just what Oregon needs, more Californians. Getting messed with now I think. Maybe name it Non-Los Angeles and Non-San Francisco BS.

Don't know, at least not yet, not familiar with the wording if voters vote thru changes to Prop 13. I can get you some realtor names if you need around Quincy. Down our short, private road out of town, there are six homes with seasonal owners, who come up for a weekend a few times in the summer, very little if at all in the winter. Six of us here year round. On the other side of the creek, they have it tougher as they get little sun in the winter and plowing the snow is tougher in the winter.

Oh man I was excited to see this thread existed but turns out between Central CA folks trolling and Jefferson folks hating on cities it has been sort of a dumpster fire.

I'm stuck in the Bay for work, but grew up in Crescent City and lived in Ashland for a while. Love that part of the state - Del Norte, Humboldt, Siskiyou, Trinity, Shasta... miss the hell out of it and wish I could get up there more often. Would be cool to have a thread where I can hear about some of the cool shit y'all are doing up there and the trails you're riding.

And for my fellow Sac/Bay Area folks - all the 'real NorCal' talk isn't necessarily meant to be a poke in your eye (although the political crap is annoying). From growing up up there in the far north of the state I'll say it feels really odd to hear people talk about NorCal and find out they mean a place half a state away from you - it's like no one remembers anything above Sac exists. Feels kinda shitty. And culturally it seems to folks in the far north that the Bay doesn't have a lot in common with them.

Anyway it would be cool if people from both places stopped trolling the shit out of this thread and measuring their dicks and engaging in vaguely political pissing contests. Should be trucks, trails, shit like that IMO. :poking:
