none except for crappy hub caps and floor mats.
I myself feel behind the times. I had the shittiest, oldest cellphone up until last year. It didn't even have a color screen nor take pictures. I broke it and got a new one. This one takes pictures and plays music. I was amazed. All my friends have iPhones now that do everything for them. I still write down driving directions and use fold-out maps. I'm also still using windows XP, have a CD player I listen to, and have a shitty old glass screen TV. I work in tech too so I really have no excuse to own outdated gadgets.

Im gonna have to chime in on this one. To begin Im a philosophy major so everything I think about ends up turning into a set of extensively interconnected themes. I thinnk about this quite often and to be honest with you guys, I would much have rather lived back then than now. Yes we have the internet, yes we have the cell phones that give you directions, and yes we have coffee makers that have your drink ready at whatever time you want it. This has effects, however, namely an increased amount of pressure to do more within a given amount of time. You are expected to do 30 hours worth of work in 24 hours because all this stuff is available and you are expected to use it. Maybe I bitch too much but I certainly feel the pressure sometimes and wish I could just live back then. I work full time, 5 days a week, 9 hours a day. The two days I have off are dedicated to school, Im taking 6 classes from 8am-730pm. I, essentially, never have a day off. Once I get home I have a bunch of other ish to do, take care of my wife (not sick, just marriage stuff), dogs, clean up, on top of trying to finish hw and a bunch of other ish. I think If I lived years ago it would be a bit easier.

I know there are many young kids who just finish high school, never go on to college, and live at home with parents and mooch off of them. This, obvioulsy, is a case where modern life is too easy.

What you need is a larger and more obnoxious font to make your point. BTW, wasn't it your generation that made all these conveniences possible for the spoiled crowd?? :D

Yes but where does it start? Im guessing with the invention of a CPU. The whole scheme of advanced technology cant really by pinned on a group of people, its entire history is responsible for it. When the seat belt was developed it was impossible to stop there, naturally auto safety technology became more advanced. As is the case with everything

The sad thing about it all....

Those damn baby boomers are gonna suck up all the social security benefits and retirement assests before we (or I) hit retirement.:mad:

That's Ok....my husband and I are building our nest egg.

I remember...when it was OK to slap your kids. Other people didn't put their nose in your business and report you for slapping your kids. Hell - I got the BELT on my bare ass when I was a kid and for things I didn't do!!! Trying to convince an already pissed off father...was not an option. BEND OVER and suck it up.

You didn't have to worry about a lot of things....Back then, you could take a walk in the park and not worry about some psycho waiting in the bushes to attack/rape or kill you. You didn't have to worry about locking your car every time. You didn't have to pay attention to your 'surroundings' because someone could be waiting to steal your purse (laugh...).
Back then, not many people had guns in their homes for protection. I have a few. :D
You just don't feel SAFE now-a-days.
