    Looks great!
    Where do you live?
(Edit: I see from the dealer plate you're in Northern California)

Nobody has one within a 200 mile radius - I'm in San Diego. There are two like this within a 500 mile radius, both far away at two different dealerships. I didn't want to make 7 hour drive with someone to drive the first car back, or buy a plane ticket. Seems too much of a hassle. But maybe I'm not thinking this through. If I could get the price down significantly maybe I would make it happen, but they seem unwilling to budge enough to make it worthwhile. Meanwhile the dealership that's 5 miles away is ordering me a brand new one from the factory with a refundable $250 deposit, at $200 under msrp... no worse than what the other dealers offered, maybe I could haggle because they're on the lot, but I asked for something like 1000 off at all 3 dealerships I talked to, and all 3 told me flat out no way (by email/phone w the other two). Maybe it's just a California thing. Or maybe I suck at negotiating. But I'm in sales and I usually manage a deal when I can. I have never bought a new car though. If you have any tips, I'm all ears.

Also I have to admit I like the idea of getting one that hasn't been test driven by anybody. So the other dealers would have to offer a really good deal to make it worth while for me to make that trip. Gas, time, lots of things to consider. That's basically where I'm at with this decision making process but it could change.

Here in Southern California, it's all auto v6 double cabs. There isn't a single access cab on the lot in town. I just don't like the double cab, I want to sleep in the back with a camper shell. I like the 5speed and 4 cylinder combo, the reliability and economy...This is basically exactly what I want. It's so basic, I can't believe I have to special order one.

I'll be honest--if I didn't have a family, I'd be all over the SR 4x4, AC, 5-sp. Utility pkg with no rear seats or CC. I hardly ever use CC anyway. I don't care about keyless, either. Worst case, go get one installed for a couple hundred dollars.

I’ve had my utility package for 2.5 years and the only thing I really miss is intermittent wipers. Wtf. Like you said though, $100 easy swap.

I shopped all over northern California, sacramento and the bay area. Once I worked all those dealers for the best price and narrowed it down, I was ready to drive about 2 1/2 hours to Auburn Toyota. By chance I looked at the local toyota dealer who had the exact same truck I was looking at in Auburn and called the internet sales manager. I told him the price Auburn was going to sell it to me and if he could match their price it to save me the drive, I would be down to the dealer in 30 minutes. ( I was pre approved by my credit union). He actually beat Auburns price by 35 dollars (I misquoted the price from Auburn by accident...should have misquoted the price by several hundred dollars ha ha)..I got an okay price i think (25700 before tax and license) and only had to drive 15 minutes down to the dealer...

My brother lives in the south SF bay area and just bought a 2018 4 runner from a dealer in Millbrae/Colma I think.. (somewhere just south of SF). He did the same thing with all the SF bay area dealers and found a deal he liked.

My experience was some dealers were willing to work with me to make a sale and a bunch did not really care and would not come off of MSRP.

Lastly I was looking on/off for several months and I noticed the dealers seemed to get the SR AC MT in waves. They either had several on the lot or none. Good luck...either way you should like your rig, I do!!!

I have the same truck and love it. Only got about $500 off of msrp but with a price so low there is really not much mark up to start with

Extremely disappointed that Toyota is discontinuing this model. I'd like to see the sales numbers over the years to see how they're justifying it. I had planned to order an '18 around December; now I'm probably just keeping my F150.

Paid around 25,500-ish for mine. What I remember is that I ended up slightly over the 27,200 MSRP after taxes. Only option I had was the rubber mats w/ sil protectors. No trade in or anything.

Damn. I am not getting as good of a deal as some of you guys. But I feel like it's the price I pay for trying to buy this exact truck in Southern California. I'm not going to let it stop me from getting one of the last production run of exactly what I want. A grand or two financed over a few years doesn't hurt so much. But I hate not getting a good deal

The salesperson probably knows you really want it, and therefore holds a lot of power.

When I called about mine(had to go to Mass), it was pretty clear that I was going to go elsewhere unless they came down a bit. Either way, if you are happy with the current deal ... do not let anyone tell you it was a bad one.

The fact that they are d/c'ing this model is a bummer. I'd pony up MSRP if I wanted one and be happy to get it. Would suck to not be able to find one later. Glad I got in one when I did. I have waited too long before and regretted it later when prices went higher.

Two reasons. Not many folks want them, and not as much dealer profit.

Bull. Bet they'd be thrilled to 'special order' you a $40k version. They just don't want to mess with it. Shop hard. Use buying services.

Only for the small niche of us that like them. IE, the answer is 'yes', but to a much smaller audience, making it a bit harder to sell if that time comes.

    But don't be dismayed.

I didn't need 4wd. Would have bought manual, but was considerate of the wife for those rare times she needs to use it. Mine is just a 5 lug AC with convenience package. But it's perfect for how I use it. Not. One. Regret.

I'm driving out to Colorado on Thursday. GF knows how to drive manual well enough ... but doesn't want responsibility since we'll have the dogs in the back. Kinda sucks that it will take us longer to get out there with only me driving, but I still have no regrets getting the manual.

Are you doing it all online? Sometimes, it helps to actually go and talk to them. From my experience, it seems they get so many emails/calls/texts from lots of tire kickers. Being there in person shows you're more committed to buying. Of course, don't let emotions get you--get ready to walk out if the deal doesn't feel right.
