The SR thread, let's see them!

Ive been getting a metal on metal sound when I hit speed bumps and dips. It sounds like its coming from the left side. I crawled under a few times this week to try and diagnose but can't find anything. I searched all the threads I could find but no luck in remedying my specific issue. Anyone else have this issue?

 

I get a rattle from the front left when I shit the driver front or rear door. Haven't had time to try and diagnose yet though.

 

Check to see if it is a bad body mount. This has happened to me before on my 16.

 

I have the same sound I can't find anything except for the grille that is loose

 

Installed my TRD OR flares today. There really is no need for two sided tape....the tops fit vet snug to the body. Took me 10 minutes to install!

 

By chance, how much did those cost you? Did you go through a dealer?

 

I bought them through Olathe Toyota. Expensive! They were like 650.00 with most of the hardware. This was one of the first things on the list that I wanted to get on the truck ASAP. Along with suspension, wheel, and tire upgrade.

It's a shame when you consider the Second Gen SR's basically came with those style of fenders, but the look is worth it! When I get my SR it's something I was planning to do as well.

I will be selling mine here in the next few weeks. I am waiting for the Ebay TRD-Pro grille guy to come back from vacation so I can order one haha. If you haven't found one by then I will certainly send you mine.
Here is a photo of mine since I just saw this thread for SRs. OEMassive headlights, leather interior, and a spacer lift (Soon to be swapped with either ICON or KING).

 

Some mornings I wake up and want a TRD Pro grille. Other days I really feel the SR5 grille is better. Can't decide.

 

I haven't had the truck too long but I found myself going back and forth on it as well. I really like the "bulkiness" of the Pro grill and how it sticks out. Plus I think the silver Toyota lettering will match more than the chrome symbol.

 

You can't really go wrong but keeping the one I have means $500 in my pocket that can go towards nicer tires so...

But then I see someone post photos of their new TRD grille and I'm back to square 1.

 

You can snag the TRD Pro grille for $130-150. There is a thread on the ones from eBay saying they are pretty solid quality. If it was any more expensive I wouldn't bother but thats relatively cheap.

 

But is that the OEM one? I don't want to be snobby but to me it feels weird to be on the hook for a $30k+ truck and then put a chinese fake grille on it. Even if it's exactly the same.

 

No accounting for taste, but my comment is the SR grille is the best looking.

The SR5 grille is almost as good, with a little blackout on the bezel and logo.

The PRO grille is nice, but I debadged my truck because I like the clean look. The TOYOTA on the PRO grill is too much, imo.

Just one person's $.02.

 

I'm typically the same way but according to everyone in that thread (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/trd-pro-grille-for-140.519248/page-171#post-17032091), fake or not, its pretty good quality and fits perfectly. It is for looks after all so if gives the look and doesn't fall apart, why not?! haha.

 

Any one know of a cheap foglight addon kit that comes with everything needed and look like the factory setup?

I was looking on ebay at a few sets for well under a 100 bucks.
