A little on the front mud flaps so far. Nothing I’m concerned with.

Ive had these sitting in my garage for a couple weeks now. I'll post up pics once I have them mounted and balanced -- which may be a while since I'm in NJ and I haven't left the house in almost a month.

    First impressions:
Wheels came banded and corner blocked in pairs. One box had a huge dent/hole in it... I was concerned about damage. Look at the box on the bottom.[IMG]

    Opening the boxes:
I will say these wheels are professionallypackaged and there are several measures taken to prevent damage. A cardboard insert is used to keep the wheel from shifting in the box
    [IMG]
The lug nuts are smartly packaged in a triangular box that fits neatly inside to prevent movement
    [IMG]
The wheel also has an elastic protective cover to keep it in pristine shape
    [IMG]
And this is what you get when you remove that cover.
The box that was damaged during shipping didn't effect the finish or integrity of the wheel, so kudos to the SCS logistics team.

Sorry for the poor quality photos, but you get the idea -- the wheels look really nice.

I'll be wrapping them in these:

Like I said. I'll post up pics once I get around to it. Right now it ain't my top priority. Looking forward to seeing how black and bronze goes together.

I really didn't want a black sr, but I got a really good deal and had to get something due to my 96 frame rot at the shock mount-- so black is what I wound up getting.

If anyone has pics of a black SR on bronze wheels I'd like to see some pics...

This is such a good looking size for Tacoma’s:

I do get a slight rub on the corner of my front mud flaps when turning in to parking spots, but so minor it’ll either clearance itself eventually or go away when the tire wears a little. It’s way better than some of the lowered sports cars and compacts I’ve had over the years.

    No issues in the rear.

I’ve got all of 30 miles on these so far but my impressions so far are really good. They’re noisy but different than the studded snow tires they replaced... lower pitched, more of a howl (these are my first MT tires). The ride quality and handling at 38psi is great. I’ll have some slush and ice experience on the way home tonight.

The SCS F5’s are my favorite and I can’t wait to see them mounted. I’ve seen some black rigs with bronze wheels and they look great.

Here’s my 2017 with the XP package. It has a RC leveling kit from the previous owner and i have ordered a set of SCS SR8 in dark bronze. Still trying to figure out the right size tire to fill up the wheel wells without rubbing.

I went with 265/75/16 because I didn't want to worry about a cmc. I expect to have minor rubbing issues due to the -25mm offset, but I'll have to assess the situation once I get them mounted. With any luck and considering I don't have fares or flaps to contend with I'll get lucky and wont have to do any trimming. My 02 taco rubs in reverse but only on the mud flaps -19mm offset. 31x10.5 15. My 96 has no issues same exact tire but with 0mm offset. So offset makes a difference. What size wheels and offset?

They’re 17x8.5 -10mm off set.. it has 265/65 on its and they don’t look bad.. i just figure while i have the money and before i get the rims swapped out to buy what i want. I don’t want to do any cutting, trimming or have any major rubbing.. minor rubbing in reverse or something weird I’m fine with.. I’m not taking it off-road or “muddin”.. that’s what the Honda is for

Honestly 265/70/17 may be as big as you can go without having to do any trimming. Stepping up to 285 will almost surely mean a cmc. You may be able to go with skinnies and squeeze a little extra sidewall, but you'll have to put some research into that. This is a good source for comparison, but its not going to give you an idea on potential rubbing issues

new tires. Cooper at3 4s 265/70r16. Looks way better now. I would like to find some of those dark anthracite sr5 wheels sometime but I’m happy with how the truck looks now.

Forgot to mention the rebate. Cooper is doing the $70 rebate now thru the 20th if anyone out there has been holding off.

265/70R16? Those look bigger than my older Cooper AT3's at 265/75... might be time to upgrade

hey just edited the post - 265-70-r16

I was gonna do 265/75 but I noticed the cooper page says they’re a little skinnier than the 265/70s. So I opted for width over height.
