Finally slapped on some 265/75

What kind of fender flares are those? I really like the look, they would look awesome on my black taco

 

I order these on Amazon for 189. They are a company called TAC. If you plan on putting them on I recommend you put some 1/2 in. clear Viynle tape so the rubber won't ruin the pain on your fender

 

I would say definitely you should get a v6 if you plan to tow. Not sure about the size camper you have intentions on. I have had pop ups and would love a teardrop. I just moved over to the Tacoma from Jeep Liberty CRD. I towed this camper with that and it was a big 4cyl turbo diesel. It was only rated for 5000 pounds and towed like it was hardly there. I expect about the same with the Tacoma. I haven't been out with it behind the Tacoma yet, cuz covid and camp sites have been hard to book and my early summer trips got cancelled due to closures.

I picked an SR5 because there were a few things that were deal breakers the sr came without: intermittent wipers, fog lights, heated mirrors, remote keyless entry, and i liked the power seat cam with Sr5 v6 as well as a bigger infotainment screen. Sr don't get any fender flares or the places to clip them on later, you have the tape them on if you decide to add them. Not sure if it's included on the sr or not but v6 with tow package also came with a a power slide rear window in double cabs.
There are ways to add keyless entry, fogs and intermittent wipers after but not so easy for all the things and the power rear window is more difficult to add later.

 

My 2020 SR

 

FYI, heated mirrors came standard with my 2019 SR and intermittent wipers are standard with the 2020 SR (except utility package, but so easy to install an intermittent wiper stalk). The fogs, keyless entry and intermittent wipers I did have to add to my 2019 SR, saved thousands and wasn’t too hard.

Two ways to add fogs, the cheap way aftermarket, or Nitori’s OEM fog light mod which uses OEM fog lights and OEM harness, with either the OEM stalk if pre wired or a separate switch. With the OEM fog light mod your fogs with go off when you turn your high beams on just like OEM and when on the fog light symbol will light up like OEM. You can usually pick up a pair of OEM fog lights cheap in the 3rd gen marketplace.

If my truck is pre wired for fogs, is adding the stalk switch and the fuse all I need to do to get them working? I already have fogs and the harness hooked up.

 

Get a V6 SR with the SX package unless you like the power seat in the SR5. The power seat is gonna be a big deal breaker.

For what you're wanting to do, a basic 4x4 with some All Terrains will work just fine.

 

Look at the first pages of Nitoris fog light mod. You should already have the fuse, I did, but have to buy the relay.

The answer is WE DON"T KNOW, and only YOU can find out. If you are prewired, the link below has a complete list of the parts needed. You will know whether you have these parts already or not. To see if you already have the fog light fuse (it should be there) and the fog light relay in your truck (probably not there), look in the engine compartment fuse box (lid diagram shows where it is). It sounds like you have most parts already, but I suspect you don't have the relay, you have to check, and as you said, you need the stalk.

I asked because I was hoping someone who's done it could answer. The fuse relay and switch seem to be the only other parts I need. So if I'm pre wired, is it just plugging in the fuse relay and installing the switch all else I'd need to do?

If you haven't done it then I appreciate you taking the time to answer but I wasn't directing the question at you, I suppose.

 

From everything you’ve said, that you already have the harness and fog lights, and if you have verified that you are pre-wired, I believe all you need is the fog relay and the fog light stalk and you should be good to go.
I did the Nitori mod but I was not pre-wired so I installed a separate fog light switch and not the light stalk with fog light control switch. I did install OEM fog lights and harness (and had to install a pin with wire in the ECU connector which pre-wired folks don’t have to do). Hopefully others may chime in. Good luck!
