Nice! You should do a build thread; I'd love to follow it.

Also, what were the other minor things that SR5 had over the SR? Anything functional or was it all cosmetic? What I love about the SR (besides the price) is not having to do a chrome delete on the interior and exterior.

I actually painted the front bumper myself. I used Plastic adhesion promotor, primer, sanded it back a few times, then sprayed with the Duplicolor Super White II. If you use the duplicolor clear coat it will yellow a bit, but it's not off any more than it is from factory. When I did the same thing with my rear bumper I didn't clear it and it's a perfect match.

    More recently I've put on

    4Runner TRD Off road wheels & 265/75/17 A/T tires
Fog lights (still waiting for OEM surrounds that I ordered)
    Extang Solid Fold 2.0
Auto Dimming rear view mirror w/ compass

Here is a picture of the color match on the rear bumper cap

I’m running 265/75r16 Falken Wildpeak AT’s on 16x8 pro comp wheels and 2” wheel spacers. Have a 2 1/2” supreme suspensions leveling kit.

I have a feeling that if I start a build thread then I’ll do more mods than I probably should haha.

As you stated - mainly cosmetic differences compared to SR5. The SR double cab comes with color keyed rear bumper caps, black grills surround, no side chrome “Tacoma” badges, and no chrome interior. All positive things in my eyes. Only negative compared to SR5 was the steel wheels, but I would’ve gotten rid of the SR5 alloy wheels too.

Some minor interior drawbacks include - no power seats and no vanity mirrors. A little odd after coming from an 06 T4R SR5 with power driver seat and vanity mirrors. Not enough to bother me though.

A bit (way) off topic but I can't resist :
I was into all the Atlas shrugged/Ayn Rand stuff for a long time and still really like the idealistic concept. Unfortunately although individuals might be honorable, (Hank Reardon, Francisco D'Anconia, Dagny) corporations often times are not and put profit ahead of all else. I think holding your own self to those standards is great as an individual but as a society unfortunately there are many who won't or are incapable , thus the need for laws and regulation unfortunately.
Anyway to answer the question below your avatar : John Galt is the man who stopped the motor of the world!

It’s ironic, I asked a friend of mine why he was a Democrat and he said it’s because corporations were evil and only cared about profits. He said all corporations were on the side of republicans. I’m like, excuse me, but have you noticed who the largest corporations in the world today are run by and who they support? He totally didn’t get it.

Yep, there is no " ALL " Honorable and dishonorable on both sides of the fence although they each would like us to think otherwise. When it comes down to it, I think 99.9 percent of us want what's best for the country and citizens. We don't always agree on it, but that is the starting point
