The steering assist works better on Corollas and Camrys with electric racks - it will acty steer for you.

How does yours have the intermittent wipers? It was my understanding that the Utility Package deletes them...?

Too bad you can't use Alaska comps for insurance, saw a used SR5 at the dealership with a $47000 window sticker :D

Rustle up your receipts for any mods you made this year. Politely ask for comparables. My '16 Sport got totaled June 17. I paid $34k brand new in 2016. USAA is giving me $37300 for it and the only mod I claimed was a tonneau cover. The comparables are all used 2016s at local lots. I'm going to a dealer who advertises prices at MSRP. I might get an SR. I stripped off the vanity sun visors since that's an easy mod, got my WeatherTechs and the bed mat and exhaust tip off. Until you sign your truck over you own it and can go take off anything you want. Fog lights and bed lights look easy enough to add for $50 each and I've already located OR take off wheels and tires for $850 with $5k miles on them.

Yeah I'm a tacoma nut, pretty dead set on one. I agree with all the posts above, and will definitely try and get every dollar outta Geico for the payout.

Located in Colorado, pretty tough finding one out here. Thinking I am going to have to come home to Pittsburgh to find one. Lots of trucks around the Western PA / OH areas.

Old truck was a manual 4 - banger, so hopefully that doesn't hurt me too much on the payout. Seeing alot of comps in the 24-25k range, but thats pretty much what I paid for mine lol. Hoping to get lucky and score like 28k but we'll see!

Sorry to reply to an old post. My son's 2000 broke at the passenger shock mount. It's gone and that's old history. The Mavcoat looks like a good product. Does it affect Toyota coverage of the frame rust issue? Before it was totaled two weeks ago I had a post card from Toyota telling me to have my '16 Sport frame inspected for free. Would they deny the soft recall if I undercoated it? I might get that stuff for my new Tacoma. https://www.amazon.com/Mavcoat-Steel-Shield-Industrial-Protection/dp/B00S57N0UC

I saw that the Laurel, PA dealer sells at MSRP. I think that's Harrisburg area. Fly in drive or ship home.

Yeah Laurel isn't too far. In this market, flying and driving a couple hours is what you gotta do!

Anyone who bought an SR Utl Pkg - have you swapped out the front black bumper for a color matched one? Was it pretty easy?

It's my experience that taking care of your stuff is the best practice.. I'm sure this thin waxy spray wouldn't void any warranty. I'd personally stay away from undercoating anything.

My 03 had the undercoating. Then eventually a frame replacement at 375k when they poked a hammer through the undercoated frame. Visually it looked fine. Undercoating didnt allow me to see all the rot underneath. My son rolled that truck.
My 02 I got used had a new frame under it, unfortunately i was fighting rust and rot everywhere else. I gave that truck to my son to trade in on something new.
My sons 96 broke at the passenger shock mount. This truck was a gamble and I knew it, but he got a couple good years out of it.those frames were not replaced -- there was some sort of buy back incentive.

So..... after seeing rust and rot eat away at an otherwise perfectly running vehicle. After seeing all the Toyota remediation techniques fail. After going in for frame replacement and recall work. After spending countless hours and dollars on rust removal/remediation in my driveway..... it's my experience that these demons can be eliminated or drastically curbed by getting under the truck a couple times a year to wash/inspect/and protect. You don't have to treat it like your paint, but you do have to get under there a couple times a year and assess your situation.

If your the person who trades vehicles in every 5-7 years... dont bother. You'll have a brand new ride and whatever rust and rot demons are eating away at the frame/components are eventually gonna be someone else's problem. I plan on keeping my truck for the long haul and I've had plenty of crappy experience dealing with rust. ID rather wrench on an oily mess than a rust bucket. Rust is the WORST.

Put it this way.. a week ago I got a new fridge. I went out and bought new fittings for my waterline. My wife asked why not just let the guys who deliver it hook it up. I said because they wont replace the fittings, it will wind up leaking and destroying our wood floor--- basically they really dont care what happens after they slap it in half assed..Its easier to do this myself and make sure it's done right. Same goes for my truck. Toyota really doesn't care if these frames rot out in 15 years. Its cheaper for them to spray them with undercoating than it is to source better materials to make more rust resistant frames.

Moral of the story. . I'm just going to keep an eye on things and take care of my shit. The less bandages I have to put on the better. The less that my truck is at the dealership the better. I just feel like the undercoating makes stuff look clean, but winds up being a mask for water/salt/brine to sit behind and eat away at the metal below (without being able to see what's going on). My 03 looked perfect. The hammer went right through the frame with a light tap...

BTW. This is the stuff I have used . Ordered from Amazon like your link. Did this brand new, and just did it again. I'll hit it again lightly in October before we start traveling a lot for ice hockey.

I think Toyota's site is outdated as every 2021 SR I've seen has intermittent wipers, including mine.

Interesting, thanks — in my initial research that immediately removed the utility package from consideration. I probably could have handled the rest of the deletions but couldn't deal with the non-intermittent wipers.

I ended up going out of state to a region served by a different Toyota distributor since we really only get utility packages here and basically no regular SRs.

That’s the best looking SR I’ve seen. Nice truck. Can you give us the specs on it and anymore pics?

What wheels/tires. Negative offset looks nice on flareless SRs. Just so long as it's not overdone. Looks good
