I posted this in the buy/sell thread but totally forgot to put in here! I got these decals put on the bedside of my MGM SR and I'm loving them. Side note I am so ready for baseball!

    Tyler,

Where did you get the bedside decals? I'm looking for some similar to those without the baseball part.

It may just be me but are the SR's "debadged" from the factory? Looking at the posts on this thread it seems many do not have the emblems on the doors. I have an SR5 and had to remove the Tacoma and SR5 badges from the side as well as the tailgate.

@CBoy808 makes custom decals. Shoot him a pm and he will get back to you. Had mine in a few days after I told him what I was looking for

    Hey Moe,

I don't mean to be rude here, are you being honest about those mpgs? I'm very skeptical of those figures. It's one thing if you were stock, but you have pretty big tires on. I have the same truck as you but with 255/75/17 and I have to consciously shift early to get 18/20mpg doing 80% highway. Rarely over 70. I can't imagine a wider and heavier setup to be 30+% more efficient? Could there possibly be this much variable in the individual motors? I see people with the v6s having this crazy mpg spread issue, but could it also apply to this i4? The wheels and tires I put on, though taller and slightly wider, are actually 9lbs LIGHTER than the stock setup.

I may be messing something up here though. The truck comes stock with 245/75/16 (30.5inches tall) and I have 255/75/17 (32.1 inches tall). That's a height difference of 5.2%.... So when I travel 300 miles on a tank, am I really traveling 300+5.2%=315miles per tank? That's the math I'm doing. I typically have 320 miles per tank shown, or 335miles factoring in the tires. Which is still garbage. But is that math correct?

I know it's a really minor offense here with an excellent truck, but it's quite aggravating seeing people with 22+mpg and the same vehicle.

I quit checking my mpg. It is almost always 24 mpg. Happy with that. I am keeping the 245/75r16 tires. I cannot fault them, except for maybe looks. I am a fan of function over form so they are growing on me. I will definately be upgrading to Michelin LTX next though.

Great truck getting 18-22 MPG currently , but I rev her to 3500K on most shifts.

Loving mine, tinted the windows to 20 percent. Best thing about the SR is that the windows arent tinted so no matching to worry about.

Toyota could save a few $$ and left those damn Tacoma badges off the trucks. I bought an SR5 DCSB V6 and the first thing I did was get those POS emblems off (including the tailgate). My truck is white and I think (my opinion) it looks MUCH better without all those emblems. Not only to they detract (again my opinion) from the lines of the truck, they are hard to wax around and since they are backed with a sticky tape it holds moisture after a rain or wash. Take them off after a couple of years and see what they have done to the paint underneath (especially a white one). i have ordered the black Tacoma tailgate letters direct from BDTrim. They were $24.95 free shipping. Amazon has that brand at the same price plus $4.99 shipping. Has anyone used the BDT letters? I know there are a lot of other brands available and some were less expensive. I did almost "cheat" and order a set of TRD emblems but thought better of it. After all, my truck is not a TRD.
