I paid 28k before taxes. I went to a state where Tacomas sit on the lot forever (IL).

Dealership still won't lower price to a reasonable price. Still on the lot. I don't think anyone who does there homework on what SR 4x4 dc goes for and what a 6" lift and tires goes for would pay anywhere close to what they are asking. Talked to manager and could only get them down to 38,000. I said (it's a used truck) I know it has only 35 miles on it. I want to add one more taco to my plate. But i want a deal. It will need front struts and rear leafs and body mount triming. I like the SR look and something I can do the stupid and cool stuff to without wife saying anything.

But yeah you're right people who get a sr are either looking to upgrade stuff themselves or looking for affordability.

Seems to me like they would have been better off doing that to an OR model with all of the bells and whistles. People eat that shit up!! Big truck with premium sound rolling on big tires.

I really like your truck! For some reason 2nd gen TRD-OR/SR5 wheels look so much better on a 3rd gen than 2nd gen. Toyota should offer those wheels as option for the SR trim.

My sr double can nearly ran 32,000. Most likely cause it's a v6 and double cab. Also had color matching bumpers and mirrors. There a great project truck! The off-road has one thing I like and that's the rear e-locker. So maybe that 38,000 is worth it, but they of course have ridiculous mark ups. I can put 10,000 into my truck and the dealership won't notice any upgrades, they say it doesn't add to the value of the vehicle. But they'll put a 40,000 price tag on it lol

    Here is my 2016 SR.

I have had it for a week and I love it. I want to get an ARE V-Series Shell, add some better suspension and do some cosmetic stuff like a new grill etc. for a camp truck. I wasn't able to afford the 4x4 model, which was something I was interested in. However, I took it out east of 29 Palms on some trails that I thought there was no way I would make, and it did great. It has been able to do everything I have asked of it. Any of you have suggestion on some offroad oriented mods to help the truck out?
