    Nice congrats! It's looking good.
I'm also interested in some off-road mods

Today I took my longest drive since I bought the truck, 300 miles (yeah, I know) over 12 hours. I had to go to Redding, which is across the mountain, but the road is closed, so I took a really really really out of the way route that involved a ton of 1 and 2 lane mountain roads, a bunch of gravel, and some easy off road stuff.

I forgot my camera, so pardon the cell phone pics.

Bottom line, with 3100 miles on my truck now, I totally love it. I have it set up pretty much exactly how I want it, it looks perfect to me, and it performs exactly how I want it to under all conditions - highway down to 4WD dirt track. It took me sitting in it all day today to really form that opinion; I just had a great travel day and at no time had any gripes about the truck. There's certain things I've noticed that other guys complain about (door panel rattle is the most noticeable) but I don't even care, they don't bother me at all. I just enjoy rolling along at the speed limit, windows down, radio up, working the gears.

Took my air dam off today. Looks so much better! Did notice more noise going on hwy. Now the bottom looks bare so on to the next, skid plate.... Really want the TRD pro skid plate but not for 400.... I gotta think this one through.

I personally like the look of the oem steel and it works for me, but for function at a better price than the TRD, check out RCI. Chitown4x4.com has pretty good prices on RCI, call and talk to Joe.

Thanks! Unfortunately for the SR, the oem skid plate does not cover and protect the front diff and engine oil pan. I don't do a lot of off-roading but do plan on getting off of the hwy. The combo of the oem look and the ease of changing oil (don't have to take the whole damn skid plate off for changes) almost got me sold. The price is the only thing holding me back.

Looks great. I'm planning on taking the air dam off of my SR as well. How long did it take? Apparently it's just like 7 screws that holds the air dam on? Doesn't sound that hard to take off.

Very easy! Less than 5 min. I think it had about 12 screws? Good luck!

I understand. For me it's a combination of honestly assessing the truck's use, and knowledge of what got fucked up on my 4Runner - which, incidentally, after a ton of rocky offroad thrashing was not the diff or oil pan... or the LCAs... or the rear diff - it was the radiator. That bitch landed on a freak rock and curled up like a sleeping dog. Still held water so I never fixed it. I did get the RCI plate not long after that.

I have heard tell that most skidplates that cover the diff are so close to the diff that there may be concerns with impacts basically transferring through.

The TRD OR has the exact same skidplate as we do.

If you look at guys like Expedition Overland and similar, a lot of these dudes are not armoring the bottom of the truck. XO's 4Rs have the factory steel skidplate. Not sure what their OR Taco has. They do a fair amount of gnarly shit. Point being, I think armor in general is kind of overrated for a daily driver that isn't purpose built to go smashing over shit. Yes, it looks cool, and yes, if you need it you'll be glad to have it, but I haven't met a lot of people who can honestly say: "This is my DD and if I didn't have an aluminum skidplate I would still be on that mountain right now...".

If you get the RCI it has a hatch in it for oil changes.

Anyone test drive the OR and SR before purchasing the SR? I test drove the OR few weeks ago and it was pretty smooth. Planning to test drive a SR or SR5 when time is good.

Got my new shoes this weekend, very happy with it. Tires are bfg ko2's 265/70/17's at stock height. Rubs bad at full lock with the weather tech mud flaps, going to get the plasticolor or rally armors.

Well guys mine may be the first 2016 SR with a Scooped Hood, picked it up 2 Saturday's ago. Swapped my non scooped plus $200 cash for this scooped hood! It was a little dirty from the ride home from Buffalo NY, but got it cleaned off!

Got rid of my SR Utility 2.7 4x4 for a SR DCSB 3.5 4x4. Came with a bed mat and all season mats. I added tint and RokBlokz right off the bat. I'm torn between getting new wheels and tires or just tires. Hmmm.

Here's an updated picture of mine. Now have Spidertrax 1.25 spacers, air intake tube, and just had Bilstein 5100's put on today. They're on the second notch and I measured...Back fender is like .2" higher. I thought it would be more of a difference, do these shocks settle?

Has anyone put off road suspension on their sr's? I may come across a cheap set of OR suspensions. while i save for something else. Thoughts?

I considered it since I've seen some cheap OR suspension as well. My decision was to just wait until I can afford real suspension instead of replacing my OEM with OEM even if the OEM Bilstein's are better.

If you can do it yourself, and you have lifetime alignment, do it. Otherwise you are going to be paying multiple times for the same labor and that kind of makes the whole thing pointless.
