Hey, for anybody with a 4 cylinder, does your diff howl like the 6 cylinders do?

Nope. Although I've had my diff replaced. But it did not howl before either.

Mine sure does, started when it had about 700 miles. It now has little over 15000. Its anywhere in the 50-65 mph range.. Took it to dealer and got the "its normal speech". Mine also has the diff seep..

No, they cleaned the rear diff, said it was the wax coating melting- this was at my 5000 mile service. I just kinda laughed. And it wasnt on the recall list, so they were not gonna do anything. It didnt take but a couple weeks and the wet spots were back. I did ask to speak to the tech that drove my truck, he said that was just the nature of the truck to make the howling noise. I'm gonna take it to another dealership. Maybe they can help..

I thought the springs were different?

TRD Sport has a slightly firmer linear rate spring,
SR5 has a specific linear rate spring,
TRD OR is the only one with a progressive rate spring and does indeed feel softer in the initial travel.

    SRs???

Nope, not for the manual rears yet.

I had it in, and they agreed it was leaking. Basically said ... "well, you have plenty of drivetrain warranty left ... keep an eye on it!"

Pretty ridiculous. He could have said something like "parts availability isn't great, so we're going to have to wait on this a bit."

If my diff locks up, I have the paper trail ... hopefully he doesn't regret that one day.

(Bennett Toyota, btw .. if anyone in the area comes across this)

    Too few to list.
If you look up part numbers, the SR5 and SR 4cyl has the same part number for coil springs.
