    When looking into radios, there is one other thing to think about... APRS!

    APRS will send out your GPS location (speed, altitude, etc) This can be used in several ways.

    *Just locally to those with in range of you. Great tool for meeting up or Search & Rescue.
    *Via an iGate repeater (a repeater setup to send your APRS info to the Interweb). This is great for tracking someone out hunting or camping. Downside to this is anyone with Internet access can via your tracks and current location.

    Check out aprs.fi

    I have a GPS unit plugged into my radio so I can view the locations of others around me and their tracks.

    You can also get cheap, aprs trackers only. These are low power and don't transmit very far, but is a great little tracker for your dog or a cheap lojack alternative (but again, anyone with an Internet connection can track you.

I really want to get this done before I drive to Arizona.

    Not to difficult to do just tedious. I used 2-1/4 18x30 sheets to do one door. I have a total of 20 sheets I just hope I have enough to get everything done.

    From the sounds of it as others have reported it should be nice and quiet. I've thought about it along the way but didn't want to set aside the time to do it haha. Are you doing the floor too?
