ARE CX Evolve, dual vented windoors(awesome), LED rope lights with prop switch. Only had it for a short time, but so far so good! These new CX Evolve have a frameless rear window which makes it look pretty clean.

No I’d say they got karma- they tried to take it off before the sell and sell you it additional to make more off you. Granted 200 bucks but still. They should of just left it on if it came with the truck

I have a snugtop rebel, and yes it does slightly overlap the bedrail. Mine comes just to the top of the TRD decals. Doesn't really bother me, but I guess the solution could just be to lose the decals.

I removed the decals and had my local vinyl wrap/clear bra shop add clear vinyl 4" around the top of the bed and tailgate before they installed the cap ($200.00). I can't recommend this enough. I had a tundra that had a shell shift just enough on a long drive and it rubbed through the paint on the front right corner. It wasn't that big of a deal but having the clear wrap on my Taco should eliminate any potential issues, or at the very least allow me to readjust the cap (if needed) before it rubs through the paint.

Did you HAVE to upgrade the pro suspension to put the topper and DECKED system in there or would the suspension have handled that extra weight

    Shoot...

After lots of calls I sorta think I might go the Snugtop Rebel route with the sportsman package. It’s pretty pricey after you add racks and all that but I think it’ll be worth it. It’s also lifetime warranty on the paint so that’s cool.

Or you can buy better seals and the thickness will make it sit higher than the flat foam tape that dealers use to install.

Get esc (I’ll have to check the name cause I know I botched it) triple bulb and double bulb. Triple on the sides, double on the front.

If anyone has a are cx and had the dealer install- they used flat foam tape… ask them to post a side shot to see how low their cap sits and compare to mine.

I know it sits up higher but I think it’s better. More cushion, no chance of paint contact
    image.jpg image.jpg

Are had a decent color match on mgm but I can definitely tell a difference in the flake and/or shade- it bothers me. Quality is kinda shit… obvious the workers don’t really care and it shows, the little things like runs, dirty paint, shoddy cuts in the fiberglass, front glass not properly installed/aligned, rear glass fiberglass lip not installed properly, goop around window frame and I’m sure there’s more I’m forgetting

I might copy you until I get a different grill.

Anyone have or seen some slick ideas to mount a Tepui to a shell? I think I might just get the whole Thule rack system thing just because I don’t want to void any warranty the Snugtop has but I can’t stand how high it’s going to sit.

Dang, it looks decent but that sucks if you’re not happy. Maybe you’re to critical like me, but hey why not! I can’t stand quality issues, especially when it’s poor craftsmanship like that.

So I’m pretty much settled on the Snugtop Rebel. After a quick call to them I couldn’t figure out what the point of advertising the sportsman package that supports 500 pounds yet the rack system isn’t rated that high. Yet, if I do my own rack set up then it voids the warranty.

So my solution might be buy the standard Rebel, modify my own rack system and to hell with the warranty.

Who else has a clever way of mounting a rtt to a shell?

The Rebel. It does and you're right. I'm planning on re oving my sticker. For now I threw on 4Runner TRD OR badges to see how it would look and I like it.

I sure wish the proce on the GB Sport would come down. $3k-4k is about $1000 too much. Its no wonder you never see them despite being the best looking shell available on the market for our trucks.

Those are frontrunner's standard legs for vehicles with rain gutters. I used rhino gutter plates. Very solid option. I have some yakima HD bars to install... dragging my feet a bit. Think I'm gonna drill 2 holes in each bar and use a piece of 2 x 4 for a riser. There is a channel all the way around the tray; you could get yakima towers for that. But I want to keep it low.

I have a Century High C. I have not had any problems with it. The same company owns Century and Leer and some of the models are very similar. Windoors are very nice. I have one on the drivers side and wish I had two. Whatever canopy you get make sure the installer seals the crap out of the front corners of the truck bed. There are gaps there that will leak no matter what canopy you have.

With whatever shell you get, I'd recommend removing your bed rail caps as well as your tailgate cap and installing some protective film. I had an ARE V-Series cap for about 3 months and even installed correctly it shifted enough to make contact with the paint. When I had the basic Leer 100R on my 2nd Gen through the winter I rubbed the paint on the tailgate before I realized that it was doing it.

I ended up selling the shell off of my 3G the second I saw the paint damage. I thought it would be cool to have the cap, especially since it was the right color for my truck, but I ended up not liking it at all.
