Reading TW tells me there are lots of non-truck owners buying Tacomas.

The Ridgeline is fine and dandy for some people. The only problem is I’m too young, at age 53, to own one. In my neck of the woods, the Ridgeline is the new Mercury Grand Marquis or Ford Crown Victoria.

Seriously, around here, you see very few people under the age of 75, in a Ridgeline. Usually, it’s an elderly gentleman. When you do see one, get out of their way!! They will run your a** slap over!!!!

Maybe in 20 years, I’ll want a Ridgeline! LOL

I had a Honda Ridgeline before buying my Tacoma. My step dad gave me his honda ridgeline and I kinda understand why LOL. Glad I got rid of that thing

Funny! I have only seem them used by softball coaches and contractors. I haven't noticed the elderly gentleman demographic. I thought that was what the Mercedes Wagon E Class was for.

I really don't understand the absolute hate and mockery of the Ridgeline, though. It really is a nice truck if you are staying on road. I think the problem that Honda has is they are not selling as well as they need them to -- the numbers look very low.

I really like my 2020 TRD Off Road and don't see a viable alternative to it that I like better. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't like a hybrid Maverick to scoot around town in.

I also saw the my first Hyundai truck on the road. One of those situations where it looks better on paper than in person. I was curious about it but it looked kind of weird to me. Whereas the Ridgeline looks better in person than in pictures -- if that makes sense. To me, though, the Tacoma looks good on paper and in person. :)

I just hit 60 y/o the other day so I'm closer to the minimum age requirement for a Ridgeline. Costco had a 2022 sitting out front the other day advertising their purchase program. I looked that thing over and over from all angles trying to find a view that l thought looked even remotely okay. Non existent! That is one shitty looking vehicle no matter how you slice it. I like Honda. I come from a family of decades of Honda ownership. Regardless of quality and reliability, a vehicle still needs to be something I enjoy looking at and getting in to drive. As it is now, you'll NEVER see me in a Ridgeline....unless I'm dead and in a box in the back which I would have no control over! :D

Wait now I'm taking So-So-Security right now and will be eligible for Medicare in a few months, and I have
zero desire to drive anything but my '21 Tacoma. All I encounter out there is Tacoma-Envy....

    Nothing major yet.
Plus the Honda J Series they come with are pretty solid aslong as you get one that doesn’t have cylinder deactivation.

Definitely. I would also avoid Honda turbo engines.

In the long run, I think the ridgeline will be just as reliable as the Tacoma.

Everyone I know that owns Honda/Acura products, only say good things about them. I had a Honda as well (civic) and it was absolutely bulletproof. Honda’s old school 4 bangers were on par with the reliability of the 22RE/22R, IMO.

I'd trust a factory turbo'd Honda and likely a Toyota version LONG before a Ford, Chevy, et. al.. I still think it would be safe to assume that you'd be tearing into those turbo's ($$$) long before a normally aspirated version of either would require even being looked at!
