You can "think" what you like bud, But I'm telling ya... I bought the Z85 package that gave me heavy duty springs and mono shocks...

I took them all off at 120k to replace with bilsteins 4600 Mono's... Thinking a great upgrade... The bilsteins were off within 3k, I couldn't stand the body roll..

I could push the Bils down with an open palm.. The OEM GM shocks at 120k were stronger by a mile.. I could hardly push the front ones down with a chunk of wood to protect my hand(no coils on) So I put them back in..

    And I'm talking kilometers...Not miles..

She is a beauty, always wanted one of those....

This was my last LS car. That thing took it like a champ. What a great car, still miss it.

Those I5 engines are horrific to work on. They have known cylinder head and timing chain issues. Both require dropping the transmission, front diff and oil pan. It's less work and cheaper to swap the whole engine.

    lol...

When he starts the engine you should hear the rattling!!! Either a cam phaser or hydraulic tensioner is shot... 100k later....lol Still doin it..

Doing the brakes is a joke... Complete hub removal is required..

    tail lights melt..

    But they keep on going...

Like most GM's, its going to run forever... But itll be out of spec and the noises and electrical will drive you to drink... More than average...

What I was trying to say with this is... it seems like it’s gotten way bigger. But it truly hasn’t. The taller bedsides and high hood make it seem so. Compared to 1st gen the wheelbase is only 5 inches longer and overall length is only 10 inches difference. It is surprising because it seems wrong.

This is what I miss, and wish that Chevy would come back out with. May have been my favorite truck that I ever owned. This one is not mine, but just am image from google.

Edit: Sorry OP. Did not mean to derail topic

Good. Hopefully it stays hot for a few more years when I get rid of mine. Not so impressed with the Tacoma.

Let's just say I wouldn't trust one to get me home, or even to work on time. 4.3L 5spd S-10? Absolutely.

I owned two of these trucks. Loved them both. Had a medium gray color one with black top and a bright red with black top. I liked the gray one for looks better than the red one but both were great. loved the back window like the 4 runner and tundra was electric and went down..

yep. sure did. I had fixed mine so that it was quicker to remove and put back. U needed 3 to handle getting it off easier for it was pretty big and had to handle otherwise.

In Florida there's tacomas everywhere and they're usually trd off-roads where I'm at (northeast florida). There's not a day where I don't see at least 5 other Tacomas on the road. Honestly i think its just preference at this point. The Colorado is a great truck and performs well from what I've seen.
