    I have the hose-clamp tailgate lock :-) best $3.14 I've ever spent
Last night the wife asked me "Why do we use miles...where did it come from" Did a little googling and I found this on wikipedia:

The statute mile was so-named because it was defined by an English Act of Parliament in 1593, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. The statute states: "A Mile shall contain eight Furlongs, every Furlong forty Poles, and every Pole sixteen Foot and a half." It was thus 1760 yards (5280 feet, about 1609 metres).

Could be useful in in trivia some day, and it makes this an informative thread.

And for the record, I'm going to start referring to the truck as my "tac" I think it will catch on...

The other thread was about if you find the term degrading. I don't find it degrading, I just don't like it.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I always refer to this forum as Tacoworld anyway! :D I like the term, makes the truck unique. My friends all call Tacomas Tacos too, it's like a fad ever since I got one, dad calls it that as well. I've actually seen Tacos with the "MA" removed from the badges running around here so no matter how much the OP hates it, he won't be able to avoid seeing it all over the place. Only thing to do is blame Toyota for naming the truck "Tacoma" I guess lol.

Never really thought about it. I suppose it's just somewhat entertaining to me just like listening to a deep south accent that needs subtitles. (No offense meant). Diverse language and terms makes life more interesting.
