...to say goodbye to my 2004 Access Cab Tacoma. I was planning on waiting until May or June to get a new one but I've got a chance to get a 2020 Army Green TRD Pro that should arrive mid-February so I've decided to go for it.

I'm probably going to just trade it. I realize I could get more in a private sale - even the dealer said that - but I'm not sure I want to go through the hassle given I've only for about 30 days.

The truck has 41K miles on it, some light scratches here and there and a small dent in the tailgate that was there when I bought it 7.5 years ago (I'm the 3rd owner and it had 27K on it when I got it). I have not replaced the timing belt so that needs to be done and the frame is the original. It's still in good shape with some light rust - still a solid truck.

I'll debate with myself - have several local people who have asked about it but still leaning towards just trading it.

You should list it privately. Likely to get more than trading it in

For the love of god sell it private party
You’ll make so much more selling it vs trading in. It’s mint!

Should get decent money for it at 41k. Good luck with the 3rd Gen. Traded my 04 for a '15 2nd Gen...very happy so far. Still a couple of things I miss from my 1st Gen though.

    Why not list it here?
I’m sure someone would love to buy it

Damn Only 41k! Id at least try to sell it privately, even if you only list it for two weeks. Its worth a shot for extra money you would gain

If you have any friends with new drivers, finding a decent first car is always a challenge. Most in the price range are from buy here/pay here type dealers. A decent, reliable, vehicle with a known history is almost impossible. Offer it to a new driver for what the dealer offered and good karma will follow. It looks like a great older truck. Just a thought for a parent that has been there.

Makes no sense trading that thing in; you're perfect for a 3rd gen.

Unless you want to make the dealer owner's Grady White boat payment, sell it private party

Replaced stock radio with a Pioneer AVH series head unit. Focal component system w/a 10" sub powered by 2 Alpine amps. Weathertech floor mats. Line-X'd the bed. SCS Ray 10’s, Installed an A.R.E. They will rob you blind as far as trading it in. You will get top dollar if you sell it to a private party. I’m sure someone on here will pick it in a fairly short amount of time.when it’s time for my 1st gen to go, I’ll most likely pick up a 4Runner a couple years old

Gray. Auto trans. It has TRD OR stickers but I'm not sure if it has the package or not. I don't have the original data sheet. Forgot to ask my dealer for the specs when I gave him the VIN.

Enter your VIN on the Toyota Owners site and it will tell you more. https://www.toyota.com/owners/my-vehicle/vehicle-specification

I agree with everyone above. Sell it private party and you'll make more money than you'll save off the MSRP of the new truck.

Thanks for the link. It does have the OR package and the LX SR5 package as well as some other items that were factory installed.
