A community potluck was not what was originally proposed altho it may have morphed into that in the private conversation that preceded this thread. as I wasn't there.

What I originally proposed was we could each plan to prepare something special to share with others. But I don't think we should all do it on the same evening. I think it would be way too much food.

It seems like the only hard part for those that would like to share their culinary delights with others will be to coordinate which evening they want to do their thing.

The idea is to add a new twist to what we normally do. Participation would be totally voluntary so no pressure to anyone to make something even if you want to eat what someone else has prepared.

That is what I plan to do. There will plenty to share If anyone else is brave enough to eat what I've made.

 

As in, your going to make something to share one night? That isn't salsa?

Im planning on bring pickled eggs and pickles. Which will be fair game...if Devin doesn't eat them all first haha

I feel like everyday that I work on my truck to get ready for this it is like another random 8 ball shake haha. Today went from "Outlook Not So Good" to "Signs Point to Yes" haha. So much to do even after I get it running, so many mods that need to be installed, not to mention any running issues that crop up. Lucikly have two friends coming to help tomorrow.

 

Bring something special to share with the group. We can negotiate on which day we do our thing.

You'd better make sure that doesn't happen or I might have to ration your salsa allotment. I've been hearing about these pickles for a year now. Partaking was a condition for my commitment to this trip.

 

Haha you tell her that. I made them last time and she could barely let them last a week which is the minimum time I like for them to soak. Hilarious.

Well that escalated quickly. In slightly less daunting news, my transmission will be entirely in today, just need to pop a hole in the firewall for the clutch MC.

Lookin like you'll make it

Yeah. Well it's snowed and closed it before in July while I was there spraying once. No uncommon. They plow it anyways. But pretty interesting. Hopefully won't cause problems later

 

The list is getting smaller, down to finishing swapping electrical harnesses, buttoning up various engine connections for EVAP, clutch MC and slave, and i still need to put in suspension. We'll see how much of my mods make it in in time. Still waiting for my bumper to be finished too

 

Really for the part you'll be here for, sliders will be very important unless you get bigger tires.

 

Well I still have my sliders, as soon as I get this thing on the road I'll see about taking it to have them burned back on.

 

Yeah those will be the most important mod to get back on for this. Goose lake and boulder basin will not be nice to your side panels otherwise.

Suspension after that I'd say as there will be a lot of rough terrain.
