Man hell if I know, I'm getting closer but I am working alone too. I will have all of the 9th through the 15th to work on it without work getting in the way. Hopefully that enough time. I may be able to start it tomorrow. Just gotta get the clutch MC in. Hopefully get the spindles and rack in too. Then it'll be drivable. Not sure how I'll get sliders burnt on in time, but I'll figure it out when I get there.

 

Haha, thanks! The install should be pretty easy if I can find the time to do it. Though, if you have an extra mount, I wouldn't pass that up. LMK.

Nah, I made my own ghetto mount for mine, super easy if you have ditch lights like I do.

 

Well..i know the feels. took me 2 months of constant work. Though i didn't really finish it until that spring. I just wheeled it after 2 months. Was only partly put back together. In some ways the interior never got back together haha

Mike kept saying well leave on the 16th, camp somewhere at or after Missoula, then drive on the 17th to Big Timber hopefully arriving before 5pm

 

~5pm would be good for me - looks like about an 11 hour drive, so I'll be leaving around 4:30 or 5am to hit that.

I will be leaving here on Saturday mid-morning. Will stop on the way Saturday evening to camp. Somewhere east of Missoula most likely. I plan to get to Big Timber ~5:00 pm.

And last time I was there, Fry's Electronics in Renton had the Uniden 520XL Pro in stock. Not sure if they had any Antennas tho. I am running a 3' Firestick.

Thanks for the Fry's tip - looks like it's on backorder. No problem though, Amazon's willing to ship . Just need to get a hood mount. Perhaps CBI.

Have you verified they will actually be open that evening?

 

The CBI is okay, but for just an antenna it's some work to fit the bracket in under the fender and good hinge. Couple self tappers and a stainless bracket from Amazon will get yah there without having to build a lot of ground strapping ( the cbj mount is powder coated)

 

Im excited to eat it again. I don't care if you don't like I think you will though.

I got my test swapped over. Started my leaf install now.

 

Conduit length has a massive role in tunability though, that is why an 18' is usually recommended no matter what

 

That's makes sense. I used some thick insulation wire last time and it was great compared to the last shit I used. Being near the electronics in the dash is hell for the CB I think, but it was certainly better this last setup

 

9 is half of 18. So its a multiple so it fits the wave length.
