bring a warm sleeping bag! 21 degrees!

 

Don't worry, supposed to warm up during the week. 71 in meeteetsee. up to 50 in the mountains. Gonna be a fun trip!

 

Yeah, I bought a new Teton Mammoth bag. We'll see how it does.

 

well idk if its snowing over there. But looks like quite the storm system to move across the region.

Snow camping is fun! To a point. One thing is for certain, we will be experiencing temperature swings of over 50 degrees on this trip haha

So stoked for this!!

 

we will be up in the mountains, which looks to be getting down to high 20s.

And down in the valley's(petroglyphs, pryors, traveling) which will be in the 70s.

Could be hotter for all i know. Was 95 yesterday.

plus snow up high! which means mud and fun. Down below will be fast and dust.

Gonna be awesome.

 

As far as I know, there never were any restrictions on campfires in Wyoming. Which means if the ban you referenced is not lifted, it will only effect us in the pryors and goose lake and independence.

 

Are you skipping Sunlight Basin?

 

I don't see it as a big deal. Either way we will have a campfire.

 

A little bird just told me that the grey truck has started and warmed up normally and is idling smoothly.

Independance, Goose, Pryors are the only affected nights.

 

Got my jerry can mount refabbed to fit the scepter tank. Just moving the Ham/gps stuff over and then pack the rig. Think this is the most effort i've ever put into preparations.

I have a change of plans for me on sunday as well.

Devin is going back to Cody to see her mom off at the airport that afternoon. So i will be leaving from fishtail hopefully around 1. Drive down to powell to get her and pick up my new phone as i broke mine last week. Then head up. I say this as the likely hood of me being late has increase with this plan. But its the best way for Devin and I to make it work.

 

As much as I hate to say this I think I need to throw in the towel on making this trip. It's becoming more apparent I just don't have time to do the week event. Just going to have to see you guys for the lander part.

House is coming together, but it's just taking longer than I anticipated and not leaving me the time I need to wrench on the truck to get it where it needs to be.

Do we need a chainsaw (should I bring one)? Over here in the Cascades, I we've got enough dead fall that it's now a regular for me... I know Ben fancies himself a handsome lumberjack and will have his when he's with us.

Do we have/want one the rest of the time?

I can also bring a couple 5-gallon buckets of kindling, if that'd be good.

 

Seems reasonable. Will do. Next time, wear a Fire Department shirt, it'll up your handsome. At least, that's what @mrs.turbodb says. LOL.

Well, it seems I'll be riding with a copilot on this trip. My dad has been bugging me to take him on an adventure, and since the gf can't make it this seemed like the best opportunity.

Also I'll be departing from the group probably on Thursday, I need to be in Sandpoint on Friday for work. Kinda bummed I won't make it to Sunlight Basin...

I think Monte said he's bringing his. But bring it if you have the spare room, never hurts to have a spare. The likelyhood of tree-fall this late in the season seems slim, but it will be handy for gathering campfire wood.

 

lol I'm still going to give it a shot, just trying to be realistic with myself. See if I can get Marc to come help me for a few nights, but he has been pretty busy with work lately.
