    Im guessing its not gonna matter. You'll find us. We will be past the point were there are multiple roads. So, just one way really.

    But again, after next week i'll have a better idea of where we will be camping. Can send you GPS points for it too.

    Really i will have 90% of this trip already plotted on GPS. I'll be giving that out to those that will be attending and can use it.

    I know exactly how you feel. This first canada trip we did, the entire trip, aprs and ham, was all timmy and monte would talk about. And it wasn't just over the radio. All night long in camp too.

    What do you suppose they are discussing... It wasn't about popping bfg sidewalls (2) just a couple of hours earlier, I can tell you that much.

    I have zero motivation to get one anymore, as long as I'm travelling with at least two of you I'm sure we can cobble together half a shitty signal using a combination of wood smoke and TNC.

    They seem really handy if they work. The APRS/DPRS is useless if it isn't reliable though and I'd rather pay much less for a simple HAM if I'm just going to use it for another audio comm.

    APRS isn't that complicated. But getting 3 devices to work together perfectly in an offroad truck..can be a challenge.

    Using aprs barely cost anything tho if you already have the radio. Just the cost of a tnc is all. App is free.

    And the drama of last outing is not typical.

    Your photo evidence says otherwise as does my past experience with you and Ben using it. I'll wait until I see it work successfully for a bit, I'm not ready to spend $500 just to be rewarded with knobs to turn and a head to scratch. It hasn't reach necessity level in my head yet, but that can change if you can prove it works reliably.
