Stock at the moment. Boss Suspension ordered
New here and purchased my first truck. It's a 2017 Tacoma TRD sport and I recently placed my order for a Boss suspension kit. Shout out to Hugo from toytec for reassuring me and answering so many of my questions, lol! Been reading around and after reading through most of this thread I decided to purchase. Can't wait until the complete set all arrives :)

You won't be disappointed, that lift is great and it rides smooth, however I did go with blocks in the rear and kept the factory rake.$.02

Hello and thank you, I'm still new to trucks and lift versus lowering lol! Would you mind explaining why you went with blocks versus the AAL in the rear? I need to google rake as well. Thank you and I can't wait...just received an email from FedEx regarding the suspension

Hey guys I'm looking into a new suspension for my 2005 4 door. I'm looking at the toytec 2.5 boss kit 25BOSSTACP the one with the rear reservoirs or the toytec boss kit with the 2.0 with out the rear reservoirs. I'm having a hard time deciding if its worth the extra cash to step up $500 from the 2.0 to the 2.5's. My truck sees 90% of its driving from September to Feb when i'm in the hills for hunting season. It sees a lot of rough/rutted/rocky trails snow and mud, and gets ran in 4 low often. I actually don't care much about lifting much as I really just want it to be smoother and not such a stiff ride off road. It currently has a AAL in the rear and some sort of lift in the front, It was done when I bought the truck used and it was done cheaply. Currently it rides like crap. So toytec 2.0 with block in the rear $1300, Toytec 2.5 $1800 or icon stage $1500?
    Thanks for the help

Since you are looking for the smoother ride and lots of medium off road I would lean toward a 2.5 set up. Now the difference between ICON and BOSS 2.5 is that ICON shocks are Digressive and the BOSS shocks are Progressive. Essentially the way they are valved. For smoothest ride on road and off road my opinion would go to the BOSS 2.5's from what you have researched above. You could also go with KINGS as well. But I believe that goes even higher in price.

Another key difference between BOSS 2.0 and BOSS 2.5 is the 2.5 is more of a performance shock and is rebuildable. With that factor comes more maintenance. Also lots of rebuildable parts that typically wear out quicker depending on use. 2.0's are designed to be put on and driven. How long they last depends on how much abuse they get. My opinion is they are good for about 3yrs under average off road use.

I went with 2' inch blocks in the rear because I don't plan to do any off roading other than sand on the beach. I wanted to keep the TRD OR 4x4 rear suspension close to stock since I like the plush ride and don't have a need for more carrying capacity or towing requirements. Because the factory rake comes with the rear 1" higher, adding the 2" blocks kept that. I only got a 4x4 because I wanted to get the 6speed MT. This is a daily driver (DD) and I have another 4x4 that does get dirty.

Hey, so I have a 2016 tacoma TRD sport, I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger on a lift. I wanna be sure to get rid of the squeaky leaf springs and the taco lean while getting 2 inches of lift. Sounds like the toytec boss 2.0 is the way to go? Has anyone had any driveline vibes with this lift. I wanna be sure I don't run into any issues..

No issues with this lift and the ride is great. I think keeping the factory rake is important along with the diff drop kit. $.02

I have my Boss 2.0 parts on order but it seems the Coils are on backorder. At first I was told I would have to wait about 2 weeks which I have, but after inquiring about my order status today I was told another 2 weeks. What gives? Are you going to fulfill my order after another 2 weeks of waiting or do you see any further delays. I'm just concern and don't want weeks to turn into months. I appreciate your product but I just want to get er done. Thanks

I'm in the same boat. Still waiting for my front coils but I've had everything else pretty quick after ordering. Called a couple days ago to check up on order and was told about another week or so. Pretty bummed as I'd like to install asap plus the wheels and tires I ordered are waiting as well lol! I'm sure it's out of toytec's hands as they're waiting for them from the whichever company's making them. I myself am coming up on three weeks of waiting :(

According to a Toytec rep, they expect to have them sometime around the 15th so we should get it soon. I like you have my wheels ready to go so keep our fingers crossed. My son and I installed the same lift on his 2017 and the ride is awesome. Next week maybe.
