I have no complaints with mine (on or off road). To me they ride very similar to stock.

Mine toytec shocks are smooth. You might want to invest in a better set of bumpstops though.. i have the timbren active off road bumstops on top of my u bolt flip and u can def feel a difference

I have to say I like the ride of the Boss 2.0 shocks but they do not hold up. My install company is trying to get them replaced under warrenty. This truck is my daily ride, the shocks just turned a year old with hardly any miles on them and the front strut is blown and the rear shocks are already rotting. NJ had a very mild winter with very little snow so the shocks should never had corroded or rusted as bad as they have. Boss is giving my install company the run around it seems, toytec told them they are waiting on the manufacture of the shocks. I asked them the shocks aren't made by toytec they are an off name I've never even heard that gets rebranded by toytec. It has been over 3 weeks waiting on an answer from them to see what they are going to do about the shocks. If they are a reputable company they would have given an answer already and made this right and replaced the shocks already. At this point if they fail before they make a decision I have a good lawsuit against them for negligence because this can become a safety issue.

Toytec it is time to step up to the plate and replace these shocks. Everyone keep an eye on your shocks and make sure they are not rusting out or blowing out within the first year of having them on your trucks.

I work with a company that manufactures a product and if there is an issue with it we fix it or replace it within a week and the product isn't something that would coz harm to anyone. It is being reputable and standing behind our product.

Interesting. Mild winter or not the crap that the east coast uses on the roads is horrible on steel, coated or not coated. I have heard that Toytec includes a care document with the kit and it talks specifically to east coast care. I was wondering did your installer provide that information to you once they completed the install?

It happened to me on occasion. Just put them back down. I typically saw them after a trip to the car wash which was good cause I had just cleaned them off.

Don't mean to intrude just have to vent a little. I had Boss Coilovers from Toytec. 1.5 years 30k of highway miles. Never saw off road one time. Both are done. Toytec told me that they are a high performance coilover so they don't last as long as OEM coilovers which are built for longevity. Would have been nice to see that little tid bit of info in the product description on the TT website.
Factory coils = 150k..... Toytec coils = 30k....Got it. They were nice for a year. I just don't have $900 a year to spend on throw away coils.

Unfortunately that is the case in the aftermarket world for most brands. Hell super high performance brands like KING and ICON have 90 max warranties and suggest rebuild intervals some as low as 5k miles depending on what you do with them. It's one reason I went to a high performance shock that can be rebuilt. Rebuilds are much cheaper then new suspension.

That being said what kind of highways are you driving on? I have a set of BOSS 2.0 shocks that were on my truck for 2yrs that consisted of on road and off road use. When I pulled them off they were still great so I got 600lb springs for them and put them on my 4h gen 4runner. They have been on the 4R for over a year now and are still doing great.

@martinh I am curious to hear the outcome of your situation.

Just to clarify too, your install company is incorrect on how the shocks are made. No they are not made in house at Toytec. They are produced by an outside company. However the spec sheet for the shock is to Toytec's specifications. No different then any product that out sources their designs to a manufacturing company. Although I will note that these shocks and springs are built in the USA.

I was looking at getting the Toytec front coilovers and rear shock. Now reading the above posts I would like something that would be a little more durable. I don't want to replace these or have to service after 30k miles (maybe it was just their environment, which mine is similar to NJ). Any other recommendations within similar budget?

I've had my toytec boss coils for about 2 years now and put about 18,000 miles a year on them. Never have had any trouble with them what so ever. I do have a question though, did you run aftermarket bumpstops up front with your boss's?

Working on it, dissent offroad racks, shift sense pro, pedal commander , ARB twin, rigid SS dually's , dual batteries, ARB fridge , 2.5 Fox coil overs wResi , 2.5 Fox rears w resi Total chaos UCA , deaver packs , Nitto trail grappler's 33" .
I've heard these are pretty good setups . I guess my concern would be with the company's willingness to provide ( excellent ) customer service ?
I've read and heard quite a few threads and personal chats with people trying to get help with parts under warranty and it seems Toytec has a habit of at least slow walking people?
Just what I have observed...certainly not a statement , but more of a concern .
