I guess thats a poorly worded question... what I mean is :

Is this a common problem? and if so, is there an easy solution like adding a leaf or two/ heavier springs? is there a manufacturer/ item that is best for this application? OME, toytec, icon, etc.

So far, I really like the toytec setup with UCAs... its tough putting on all this weight!!!! Its starting to cost me money...lol

Sounds like your going to need 700 lbs front coils and maybe a set of OME heavy rear leafs. I am currently researching this stuff also.
On a side note how do you like the Boss kit ?

yea. Sounds like 700 coils for sure , and maybe upsized rear shocks and leafs to handle the weight.

Since you have the Boss set up you can always adjust the front coilovers to get your height back after adding the front bumper. I run 650 coils on mine and I have a Pelfrybilt steel bumper and steel skids and don't have any issues. In the rear I would looking into upgrading to a full leaf spring pack, I currently have the OME Dakar EL095's and really enjoy them.

    Hi guys,

I have a 2015 that I bought used with a toytec 2.0 lift in front and something, not sure what all is in back, but it has the small toytec shocks. I was getting what I first thought was a rub, but ended up being the ABS system engaging to correct for a fantom skid. It happens during left turns and the system tries to pull you into oncoming traffic which is not good. I just unplugged the yaw sensor under the driver's seat and it now doesn't happen, but without ABS! I read it could be a leveling issue and that seems to make sence with the lift. Also, my front left shock seemed blown and would bottom out easily (clunking noise over washboard roads or worse.) and I decided to upgrade to the BOSS 2.5 front coilovers because they are rebuildable and tougher I assume. I also installed SPC UCA's while I was down there.

FYI, the alignment was bad, and barely drivable after I put the new parts on. It took the guy over 2 hours to get it aligned and when he couldn't get it dialed in with the LCA's, he ended up having to use the UCA adjustments to get it right. The ride right now is amazingly nice. No more jumping and feeling like the front is sliding sideways on washboard roads.

I did a few other upgrades at the same time. I got the fronts with the 650lb. springs because I added the Pelfrey hidden winch mount/H20-10k-winch, and bought a 5th rim and mounted a spare in the bed. FYI, I am running 285/70/17's and am getting no rubbing at this point.

So, my point/question is, What is the factory rake on a 2015 tacoma? I can't seem to find it anywhere. It has been about a week and I want to fine tune my ride hight and most importantly I want to level the truck to factory rake so I can get my ABS back without it engaging on corners. Unless someone knows of another fix for the ABS issue.

Maybe someone can help me with an issue that has me confused. I've got a recently installed boss system on my 2010 sport 4x4 with Dakars in the rear. I set the ride height to about 3" at install, had it aligned and drove it about 600 miles. The suspension settled to about 2.5" on the DS and 2.75" on the PS. I'm putting skids on in a month or so and figured I would add a but of preload now while I had everything apart for an ECGS bushing install.

Added 1.25 turns to the DS and 1 turn to the PS. I drove the truck for a few miles to let everything settle and remeasured. I am now at 2.5" on the DS and 3" on the PS. There isn't a 1:1 relationship between DS and PS preload.

Do I have to add a lot more preload on the DS since it already has more preload to compensate for all the extra weight (1/4 tank of fuel)? Should I give it more time to settle after preload adjustments?

I’m not sure that is enough of an adjustment to really affect anything... the change in measurements may just be noise. The adjustments should be one to one... F=kx

A small handful of select mods.
From what I have experienced the ratio is about 2:1 DS:pS. I have on occasion had to do more. You should really put a full tank of gas in it too before you adjust. If you want to get it really close.

I have browsed through this thread but I am looking for opinions on what height others have found to give the best ride. I was almost at 3" (2nd gen) but the shocks settled to a little over 2.5". I think the ride feels softer but the truck probably needs another alignment as the steering doesn't track as well as it did after my initial alignment.

I'm curious to hear what others found to be the optimal height for their toytec boss 2.0. I don't do any hardcore off roading. I spend most time on pavement trying to get out to some trails for camping or riding. The trails I do vary from slow and rocky to fireroads.

I kept mine at the height that Toytec sets it at which is 2 inches on a 3Gen. Love the ride on a DCSB TRD OR 4x4 MT6. $.02

Did you opt in for the 1" body lift kit?

I agree with you in the limited driving I have done so far. I think the ride generally feels better at 2.5" than 3". I might try 2" before I take it in for another alignment.

My thinking was Height vs ride. For some the 1/2 inch matters but for me 2 inches was good for me.

Does the boss 2.0 rear shocks require extended brake lines? Toytecs site says that the shocks are 'extended' but I can't find any other info.
