If you've paid for it, signed the papers, and the dealer cannot deliver, they are responsible for providing you a loaner "truck." The worst option is one I feel certain you're not interested in, and that is canceling your purchase contract for non-performance.

and what exactly does one do with "video proof"?

    your options are
    1. have the truck sent out for bodywork, while you wait, at their cost.
    2. deny the truck that you already signed for, wait another 6+ months for a replacement, they perform the body work, post it on the lot, and sell it as brand new to someone else sooner...

I have had three BAKFlip MX4 covers and all three were fine, I ordered a BAKFlip MX4 for my new Tacoma so that will be my forth BAKFlip MX4 and I don't expect any issues with this one either.

Nice - glad it ended well!!

Now, get that dealer license plate frame off of there - along with any other dealer badges.. they aren't paying you to advert for em!

My Bakflip X4S delaminated and fell apart in a year. The end pieces also pop off every time it's rolled up and unrolled. I just received a new replacement cover today. Thinking about selling it and going with the Lomax.

edit: It also shifts around when I drive despite being tightened down.

    all tore up already
Cars get damaged in transport all the time, parts get repaired and replaced and nobody is any the wiser. I worked at an audi dealership recently and have a few good stories to make this one not so bad.

Vw group lost a ship full of cars. 8 to our store, including one rs6 order that was 14 months in waiting. Sorry bud. Ship also had last batch of lamborghini aventador on it.

The first etron gt shipped to our store got its rear underbelly pan removed by truck driver. This took 6 months to come in. At least car was good to look at

Last one made me laugh hilariously loudly in busy dealership. Sent out a new q3 got damaged on roof somehow on truck. Just a scratch you needed a step stool to see. Couple days later I got an email from body shop only said "additional approval needed" with a photo
    20210723_115554.jpg

But as I said this stuff really does happen all the time, usually fixed before sales will even know but sounds like they are a bit eager to get you in a vehicle that wasnt ready
