Well I have to agree with Tri. James @ the Truckshop is a miracle worker!! With a little patience he found out what was wrong with my truck re:front end clunk that was heard through my steering column. Two dealers couldn't figure it out, but James did. If you are in San Diego go to the Truck Shop for ANY mechanical work and even fabrication. Sry for the long post but I am super impressed.

Interesting. I rotated my tires myself and in the process cranked up my coils a tad bit now my truck has a weird kinda like grinding noise to it. Can't explain it. Took it to expresstires to get them balanced and aligned..still making the noise.

I thought about dealership but I will check them out..how much do they charge for a diagnose?

And do they also carry accessories for cb radios? I have a radio but just need everything else to install it I.e. antenna, antenna mount, coax cable.

For CB stuff I'd just go to Fry's or RightChannelradios web site.
It might just be your swaybar hitting your coils...just a thought

I went to frys long time ago the one out in san marcos and they said they don't carru anythibg for cb radios..tried radio shack as well as wal mart. Nothing. I can't order stuff like that online..weird because I have to see it visually.

About the grinding like noise..I don't my sway bar on..I can't figure out whta it is. When I hit 15mph the noise starts..I roll down all my windows and stick my head out and can't figure it out. Its coming from the front end but can't pin point where exactly..thinking either can where I put the jack to jack up the front or something wit the brakes???

Oh yeah, thanks for the quick response!!

Thats total crap, I got my connectors, cable, and spring mount from that particular Fry's.

Hmm well for the noise I'm at a loss. But I believe James would be able to diagnose the noise. Call and setup an appointment...

    Cobra 19 something
    Lil Wil Antenna

And I have a SWR meter you can tune it at my place or a meet up

For the noice James should be able to figure it out...he has found stuff that Other Toyota dealers cannot figure out for a few people on this site.

Hey Tricoma, thanks for this thread. I took my truck down there yesterday and told james what I did before I heard all the weird noise. He said "ok lets take it for a test drive" so we go in my truck, i start it and he goes "wait let me check something out real quick" and looks at my tires and says "ok found the problem". Man I felt so stupid...out of everything I checked..I didnt check my tires. Apparently from my lack of rotating the tires my inner lugs wore uneven thus causing the noise.

I am getting new set of tires this weekend..James said if noise persist afterwards to come see him again.

    Anyway' :D

Does the grind change when you turn the wheel?

For sure man...I have heard this story many time when someone can't figure something out and then takes it to James and he finds the problem.

Just to let people know that we will be doing a MOD Day there in a few months. There will be a lot of cool stuff like putting the trucks on the lifts, girls, bbq and truck!!!

I got my weld-on sliders put on here yesterday. They are a great shop. I'll definitely be going back for some other work. James is a great guy.

I've had the sliders for a while (CBI sliders). I've been waiting for a buddy to help me install them as he has a welder, but we never seemed to get around to it.
