Just got my 15k Service from James...saved $$$. Great Place.

 

Got my transmission serviced there on Fri. I got the impression he knows what he's doing which is great these days. $188 for a drain, flush and fill with WS fluid.
I'm might have bigger problems in the near future. I think James is taking on the challenge. I'll you all posted.

 

I hope you get your truck fixed. He is good and has found things on other trucks that Toy Poway and Toy Escondido had no idea what was wrong. Ask Derek. Also Brian had an issue that he found and fixed.

 

So here is an update on my tranny. As you know from the post above, I had my transmission serviced on Fri. the 17th and then again on Mon. the 20th.
17th
Before: My truck was shaking at certain speeds and under specific conditions. The shifting was rough.
After: My first two gears were slipping.

20th
Before: My first two gears were slipping.
After: It feels as good as new. Nothing has happened over the last 5 days.

I don't know what's going on with the transmission, but I did find it odd that the tranny acted up after the first flush. I did bring it to James' attention that maybe there wasn't enough WS Fluid in there. He suggested another flush. Another $178 this time around. So far so good though. I'm happy with this over having to buy another tranny or getting mine rebuilt. I'll keep you all posted.

 

Yep. I had a bent spindle and Toyota of Escondido was trying to tell me I bent my frame.



James took one look at the truck and determined I had a bent spindle in 15 seconds. I had it replaced the next day by James for a great price.

 

WOW! I didn't think you could bend a spindle. That's a good catch.

 

yeah, the spindles are actually pretty weak. you can bend them fairly easy

 

So how is the truck Albert?

 

Nothing yet. Over the last couple of days since this post, I've been harder on the truck. I'm trying to see if its going to act up. I also wanted to call James and give him an update as well. I just can't explain why it did it to begin with. Perhaps not enough fluid the first time? I still had to pay for a second flush. Hmmm. Oh well. I can't complain really. I just hope its fixed.

 

I talked to James today and he said that he talked to you and everything seems to be fixed. He said that the dealer told you not to do the recommended service??

 

new here from san diego and read the whole thread, guy sounds very cool and a very smart. where is he located to ORW? i might as well hit em up in the future im at school and will need a check up and what not when i come back in town, plus i want a lift. badly. can you buy products threw him also? and also, TRICOMA, how are those built right UCA's? good price and im a student, so it sounds like a good deal.

 

He is on Miramar Road near the 15. The UCAs are bad ass...for the price you can't go wrong. I know a few other members that have them too. My signature has all the info, contact James. If you see me, ask me for a free oil change and I will give you a coupon for first time customers.
