    It has been explained in several previous posts. If the people claiming to have cracked the Toyota ECU are correct it should be a relatively easy thing to fix--we fixed it 10+ years ago on the "New-Edge"4.6 L V8 Mustangs...

    thanks. I've already bought the OV tune, if that's what you're referring to. so it was just out of curiosity anyway. I'll be glad to see the hang go. it's basically driving in slow motion on my commute.

    I find the function of rev hang to be potentially dangerous. Shifting from 1st to second and waiting for the RPMs to drop leaves you vulnerable to being rear ended. Also going up a hill it costs you speed and momentum waiting for the correct RPM for a smooth shift. I frequently bog shifting to second up small inclines unless I rev ludicrously high or press the clutch pedal fast which causes the whole truck to jerk.
