Just mounted up my new dash cam! Just need to get an SD card for it. Ran the wires right under the headliner, down the pillar, and to the 12v outlet for now. In the future, I’m going to put a 12v outlet hidden under the dash for this so there will be no exposed wires. Thank you again @Texasdynaryder

Newest project. Jeep retrofits. @LivinLoud gave me a hand putting these together. Came out really cool I think.

In this case... it was all about form over function. Cut off lines are excellent, however, in all honesty the light output itself is “meh” at best. Really just wanted something different than everyone else and I think I succeeded. If I need more light output I have fog lights, a light bar, and ditch lights so I’m not too worried.

Quick little write up on the headlights for anyone interested...
maybe @LivinLoud can throw in some extra if he has any.

This was my first time doing anything like this so dont judge. The goal was to make something different from everyone's regular projector retrofits. Ive only seen this done a few times. @5 Lug Fury @JezabelRed

I will say a regular projector retrofit has better light output but for me, this was about form, not function. I have plenty of other lights if I need more. So here wen go...

First off, here's what I bought:
    Capture12.jpg Capture14.jpg

Made a little redneck oven with a cardboard box and a heat gun:
    IMG_7909.jpg

    New housings:
    48425695_10218982102569958_2677381255393181696_n.jpg

I prepared the new housings by removing the film on them, and removing the 3 screws on each light. Put the heat gun on and popped em in the oven for like 10-15 minutes or so. took them out and pried them apart.

    48893738_10218982102889966_6683366525899898880_n.jpg

I removed the reflector, and took our the shield. Here's test fit of the new light.
    48893709_10218982103129972_5364484066181644288_n.jpg

Scuffed up, primed and painted the chrome reflector gloss black.

    48428772_10218982104129997_3585788596801503232_n.jpg

    popped the reflector back in...

    test fit.

Dont judge my fab skills here, I dont do this very often. but I made my own mounts out of some flat stock steel I had in the work shop. Cut off wheel on the dremal and angle grinder, drill press, vise, and small mig welder. about an hour or 2 later we had some mounts. IMG_7838.jpg IMG_7840.jpg

No pictures of the finished mount but I drilled a hole in the center of the big plate and welded a nut to it. I then made some small plates out of the same steel with a hole in the middle for a bolt. here's the back view of the housing after mounting.
    IMG_7857.jpg

    and the front
    48966390_10218982104970018_4188993474801958912_n.jpg

Now we placed the housing back in the oven for a few minutes and sealed the lens back on with 3M Windo-weld. It was late so no pictures before install.

    here they are installed.
