In the course of sound proofing the roof of my truck I followed up on a tip from @GHOST SHIP and @Crom that had it that disconnecting the TPMS transmitter would kill the dash light.

I first started the truck and aired down a tire and the warning light came on. I turned off the truck, unplugged the transmitter and the light stayed on!

I then aired up the tire and the light went out.

Then I disconnected the transmitter and aired down and..... The light did not turn on!

I also tested the TPMS reset button to see if it would turn on the dash light. Happily it did not.

    The legend lives on.

It is located behind the passenger seat on the driver's side.

The circuit surely uses +12v. Is there a place to disconnect that without the hassle of removing the headliner?

I expect that you are correct. This was good for me as I had the headliner down to install an antenna.

    This does not work!!!

The light stayed off for a day and then magic ly it came on again.

It looks like I will drop the headliner again and pop the TPMS transmitter back in....

Curious if you air down, then use the TPMS reset button, would it learn the new pressure (air'd down pressure) and not trigger the dash light anymore?
