Thank you. Any idea which brands HIDs would be better? I'm really having problems seeing with my stock lights. Thanks!

@crashnburn80 so I did a silly haha it did not dawn on me until just now as I re-read the OP. I ordered the bulbs, and I ordered the harness, I installed the harness. realized my fogs are not H11 cuz I have an 09 :anonymous: now I know I can change the ends on the harness to ones that will fit on my fog lights but unfortunately I cant use the bulbs hahaha do u know off hand any bulb that would work in my fogs? I cant remember what type they are right now but I will edit after I go look lol

You have H10 fogs, notibly weaker than the H11s. However there are still upgrade options, the brightest I've seen from a reputable manufacture is Optilux high wattage 65w H10. Stock H10 wattage is 42w. They are lightly coated 4000k though:

You'd be better off asking in a dedicated HID thread. Only advise I can offer is use the lower color range I mentioned and don't buy cheap garbage, because there is a lot of it out there. TRS (The Retrofit Source) is a popular vendor on the forum to check out.

ive got 9005 bulbs, I'm assuming those are the same as H10's. I have no problem soldering on 2 h10 males and a H10 female. its finding a decent bulb my issue, I will do a little digging haha I was contemplating just going the Morimoto route but if I can find a bulb that will give me more light output and keep my stockers that would be cool too since I already dropped coin on the wiring harness hahaha

I think you mean 9145, I assure you they are not 9005. 9145 and H10 are interchangeable.

The morimotos are 1200 lumens each, the Optilux 65w H10s are 1450 lumens each. The wiring harness also reduces the voltage drop to help them burn brighter. The Optilux will keep your OEM beam pattern whereas the Morimotos will alter the beam to be more front focused and not as wide spread. Also note the Morimotos will be 6500k, which is not a very usable color for poor weather conditions.

Are you in OEM housings? Is the bulb connector for fog light modified.

The brightest 9005 is the 9011 HIR. It is a completely different class of bulb and exceptionally rare. It makes 3000 lumens at stock wattage, compared to the LED Morimotos 1200.
    http://www.rallylights.com/vosla-9011-hir1-9005-65w-halogen-infrared-bulb.html

Though I'm still skeptical on your 9005 bulb in a fog.

So I have housings from Spyder and they came with the bulbs. But I compared them to my oems I had laying around back when I had installed the wiring harness because I thought maybe that was the difference and they were the exact same man I promise you haha no modifications dude I will snap a picture after work hahaha

Well I have no idea what to make of that, but the 3000 lumen 9011 HIRs would be the way to go. I think you have to remove a tab with a dremel if I remember correctly, but well worth it.

@crashnburn80 Hi, I have acquired the Flosser bulbs and the wiring harness for the ultimate fog light upgrade. My question is where did you wire into the factory switch? is there a factory plug I can tap into? Thanks in advance for your time. I have a 2013 Tacoma.

The stand alone wiring harness plugs into the factory harness (where you would plug the bulb in) on the driver side. Both bulbs plug into the new harness. The factory harness passenger side plug will be unused. You then connect the stand alone harness to the positive and negative terminals on your battery. This way the standalone harness is controlled by the factory harness and all of this uses the OEM controls/switches as if it were stock.

Ok, I need to get the male H11 connector (that is not supplied with the new harness) and attach it to the new harness and plug it into the driver side factory harness, correct?

Got the harness and fog lights installed. Works great! I purchased a male H11 pigtail from Advanced Auto and crimped it on. Thanks @crashnburn80

Great! Do you have a link to the H11 connector you bought? I could add it to the original post to be a helpful reference for others.

Wow! 11 pages of discussions! So I understand I don't want to put HID or LEDs in my stock headlamps and why. I want to get the brightest output without adding harnesses. I think I need the Osram Hyper 85/80w 2400 lumen H4s for the headlights but what dould I pair it with for the foglights? Has anyone done a complete updrade (parking/reverse...) without using harnesses? What did you go with?

Does anyone have a source for the small gasket that goes inside the H11 socket to keep out moisture? I just replaced the bulbs and noticed 1 light doesn't have a gasket.
