Wrong thread. Headlight info is located in The ultimate headlight upgrade H4 (not LED or HID) discussion.

For the 3rd Gen headlights, it is all covered in the 3rd Gen headlight thread. Since the H9s only use a rated 65w (~72w actual) vs 85-100w, the harness isn't required. But I am working on getting one made for the 3rd gen trucks to further boost performance. I'm also looking at alternator voltage boosters for AGM battery support which should boost performance even more than a harness. Meaning, stacking all the performance upgrades together should equate to outstanding headlight performance.

    Diodes don't boost voltage.

The guys that put this much work into figuring out this stuff AND typing it all out to make sense for the rest of us lowly people just plain impress me. Wish I had the patience and will to do it myself. Just know it’s not all for nothing and ridiculously helpful.

Lights are in, but not wired yet.

    F14868C5-A988-45F1-B344-5180B2E77D25.jpg

I forgot to take pics of them fully installed as I spent waaaay too long trying to cram 14ga wires in to the terminals on the body harness plug and ended up destroying them. I might try again, but I might just punt and buy the factory harness.

    Thanks again @crashnburn80

    Hi All,
    Finally received the GE H11’s.
No problem replacing the headlights but for the life of me can not get them to fit the fogs.
The OEM and the GE look identical when looking at them side be side.
    Any advise?
    Thanks

I just pulled out a GE H11 +130 and put it into my fog and it went in like butter. But you have a limited according to your profile.

    H11 fogs
    2012-2015 Tacoma’s
    2016+ TRD Tacoma’s

    H16 fogs
    2016+ non-TRD trucks

Since you have a limited I’m betting your fog is H16, which is a much lower output bulb. Check the bulb you removed for confirmation. You can always swap in H11 TRD housings, many members sell them on here for cheap when swapping in LED housings.

These don’t fit unfortunately. Unless you grind out 2.1mm from each of the two inner tabs closest to to the grill on the Subaru housings, and you have only 3.5mm of material on the ear to work with. Otherwise they are 4.2mm too narrow to fit in the bumper slots to hold it firmly and in the right place and are resting outside and pushing rather hard on the mounting point.

I’m still contemplating grinding the tabs as these are very nice housings, and the best solution for a halogen bulb I’ve seen yet.

I refuse to mod the bumper.

Hard to see. Measurements. OEM: 29.90mm, Subaru 25.70mm
