I will check voltage and report what I get compared to the stock harness. Without load I don't think you will get true voltage. I had ordered the ceramic connectors but they filled the order with plastic. I will reorder and replace when they come in.
I hope to post pictures of output tonight.

re: load and voltage, its all ohms law. no load == infinite ohms, so zero amps, you'll always read your full supply voltage even with skinny wiring. with a 10 amp load, then if the combined wiring is 0.1 ohm, you'd be dropping 10 amps * 0.1 ohm = 1 volt, so the bulb would only be seeing 13V instead of 14V. incandescent lamp brightness is a function of the 3rd power of voltage. actually, I think its the 3.5 power.

The pictures from the iPhone show no deference as it has compensated exposure for the extra light. From behind the wheel it looks to me to be much brighter and somewhat whiter. I like it and will be doing the Fogs next. There is no change in cutoff and that is why I went this route.

Lighting before/after comparisons can be difficult one to photograph, which is why I try to photograph the results side by side, where one is upgraded and the other is stock so there is the relative comparison with the same camera settings. Then I purchased the Lux meter to give better quantifiable results. Admittedly still it is all imperfect.

I envy the clean lines on those projectors.

You can clearly see the output is increased on the left light, but so close to the wall it is difficult to see the extent. If using a wall I'd recommend output pics at 25ft from the wall, unless just comparing color.

Glenn_R question for you. You have the led daytime running lights correct? Did this mod have any side effects to the wiring or running of the drl?

I do and there was no change in how they operate or their wiring.

I'll update the original post in the thread with this info as it has been asked before, with a link to these 3rd gen posts.

@Glenn_R It wouldn't hurt to start a 3rd gen thread with your build as a foglight upgrade thread in the 2nd Gen forum is not very discoverable for 3rd gen members looking to upgrade their headlights. And while I knew it would work on a 3rd Gen, I didn't do a headlight upgrade on a 3rd Gen like you did.

Here's my before (top) and after (bottom) photos after upgrading my low beams on my 3rd gen 2016 Tacoma. Daytime Running Lights (DRL) function properly. Harness is made from RallyLights.com. VERY VERY VERY happy with the upgrade.

Glad your happy with the outcome! :) After having 2x the output it's hard to imagine driving around with stock lights.

I still suggest someone that has done this on a 3rd gen headlight setup do a spin off thread in the 3rd gen section.

Any recommendations for H11 upgrades that best matches the drl? Not looking to do led or hid or H9 bulb mod. Anything would help thanks!

The LED DRLs? Halogen color matching to LEDs is difficult at best. You can reasonably go up to 4k in temp, but most LEDs are closer to 5-6k, so while better it still won't be perfect. You will really need to go LED/HID to match LEDs.

Note that without the standalone harness I would recommend the 55w bulbs.

Thanks for the knowledge. I will try those out and see how they look. I hope they won't have too much blue showing.

I would never recommend a bulb that appears blue, ever. I'm not a fan of bulb coatings but for those that want whiter light from halogens that is what is necessary. Those bulbs will appear white.
